“The Illuminating Creed” (Lum’at al-I’tiqad) by Ibn Quddamah Al-Maqdisi is a foundational work in Islamic theology that covers the core beliefs of Islam. It emphasises the concept of Tawhid (the oneness of God), explores the attributes and names of Allah, and discusses the significance of prophecy with a focus on the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). The treatise also goes through the beliefs of the resurrection and the Day of Judgment, and stresses adherence to the Quran and Sunnah.
