People spend much money on going sports and cultural events.
Do the advantages outweigh the disadvantages?

*Presently, people have a tendency to expend a great deal of money on attending recreational events such as sports matches and cultural festivities. While there are some valid concerns to doing so, from my perspective, the advantages of this course of action far overshadow the potential drawbacks.

Opponents of the idea of participating in such cultural events cite several concerns to support their stance. First issue could be associated with financial costs. In fact, those who want to visit music or sports events need to spend money on travel, tickets and food or drinks. This usually may come as an extra expense for some. Further similar argument could highlight the issues with crowds of people there. In other words, attendants may suffer from the noisy environment created by cheers and claps, which may sometimes seem tiresome for a certain group of people, particularly the old.

That being said, I tend to attach greater importance to the positive outcomes of this action. One key advantage to take into account, many people go to cultural and sports events so as to unwind. That is, having enjoyed sports games, music concerts and theathrical plays, they can recharge their batteries, chilling out in the relaxing ambience. This is particularly crucial to restore emotional wellbeing which is often necessary in today’s hustling world. Moreover, this can offer a great opportunity to socialize with others. Who actually goes to watch the event may hang out with someone sitting next, making acquaintances and befriending on the go. As a result, this contributes to forming social bonds and networking, which then cements social cohesion within the society.

In conclusion, despite financial considerations and the issue of crowd, engaging in social events may create far more significant benefits, including restoring the emotional health and strengthening social tights.*

Some people say that now is the best time in history to be living. What is your opinion about this? What other times in history would be interesting to live in? *It is widely believed that today is when we can live our lives to the fullest. While there are valid benefits of the advent of technology and globalization to our existences, I believe the period prior to industrialization and that without so-called ‘’ communication technology ‘’ would seem more interesting.

From one angle, some cite several reasons why they enjoy current era most. First off, the introduction of various technologies, which tend to facilitate different walks of our lives, offers numerous benefits. That is, they can provide valuable assistance in professional aspects and in our day-to-day lives. Furthermore, with globalization, usually defined as the interconnected world, cooperation among nations and countries bring about countless advantages too. As an illustration, the exchange of ideas, beliefs, perspectives and innovations can now easily traverse geographical boundaries.

That being said, it is important to note that two else eras could also be enjoying to be alive. One is that prior to industrialization when there were fewer environmental issues. Unlike now, just a or two centuries ago people could live happily without worrying about air pollution, global warming and cooling and so. Similarly, I would also exchange my existence with someone who lived before so-called ‘’ modern communication technologies ‘’. I cannot imagine how interesting it would be conversing with others and sending letters without phone. Likewise, I would be ready to give up television if everyone returned to the habit of reading, and without the internet I wish all engaged in outdoor activities.

In conclusion, now is a good time to live, but I am willing to be living in a time when there were no environmental problems and interactive technologies.*

Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of travelling across different cultures.
*Presently, there is a tendency of people who are willing to travel abroad so as to experience different cultures. While there are valid concerns about the negative effects of this trend, I firmly believe that its advantages far outweigh any drawbacks.

Opponents of travelling to overseas to learn new cultures cite several concerns to support their stance. One key negative aspect to consider is that such a travel may create a financial burden for the travelers. In other words, those people who are having a long journey from country to country need to book a flight, reserve a hotel to stay in and surely spend money to eat and so. All of these mean a cost for them. Furthermore, individuals exposed to an alien culture may face cultural clashes. In fact, some usually have misunderstandings and have a stereotypes about other cultures, which may cause potential conflicts with people from other cultures.

That being said, traveling abroad to learn different cultures does more good than harm. First off, this inter-cultural journey may allow people to learn new beliefs and conceptions, gaining valuable insights into cultural diversity. This, as an outcome, can foster appreciation and understanding of diverse cultures, contributing to social cohesion among people from various cultural backgrounds. Moreover, this travel enables them to socialize and collaborate, which can cultivate cross-cultural interaction. As a result, communication across borders may develop.

In conclusion, even though this trend may wield obvious negative effects, in my opinion, its positive impacts far outweigh potential drawbacks.*

Since the beginning of the 20th century, the number of endangered species has increased significantly and we have witnessed more mass extinctions in this period than in any other period of time. State some reasons for this and provide possible solutions.

Cause 
- Deforestation  cut down world forests  provide shelter and food for biological species including plant and animals  displaced and face hunger  result in extinction
- Poaching  hunting some animals for trade  fur, bone, and other body parts  elephants (ivory)  now listed on endangered species.

Solution 
- Reduce logging  to preserve forest areas  restore habitats for flora and fauna  provision of food and home

In fact, severe sentences such as capital punishment may act as a deterrent for poachers. For instance, in China who kills a panda is doomed to death penalty, so pandas are safer from poaching there.

In conclusion, the problematic situation elaborated above may stem from the contributing factors mentioned, but the suggested resolutions could eliminate it.*

Many people believe that volunteering is important for society.
To what extent do you agree or disagree

*Arguably, volunteering is deemed to be crucial for the society, and I share a similar viewpoint despite its several shortcomings which need to be taken into account.

From one angle, several factors seem to hinder voluntary initiatives. One key concern to worry about is financial constraints. Obviously, volunteering projects require large deals of funds in order to accomplish good deeds. Unfortunately, dearth of resources, including money, may make it challenging to provide voluntary help for those in need. Furthermore, it is important to note that volunteering may result in dependency. In other words, takers who get used to receiving aid may be reliant on givers. Consequently, such a dependent behavior may create a tendency of such an unacceptable manner.

That being said, the importance of implementing voluntary campaigns is of a great value for the community. First off, this plays a significant role in developing sustainable society, reducing poverty rate. That is, initiative groups targeting to address the common issues such as homelessness, poverty and malnutrition may sustain people and families who are indeed in need with necessary assistance. Moreover, volunteers who come together with a common goal may create networking, which is valuable in both personal and professional level. As a result of volunteering, individuals may make lots of acquaintances who may give a sense of unity, contributing to the social bond.

In conclusion, volunteering is a challenge if there is a lack of resources, and it may also lead to dependency of some in the society. Having said that, it is vital to establish a well-developed community where individuals can enjoy social tightness.
