What can New Zealanders do if we are pushed towards any type of war? Advocate for funding of protection of our seas. I spoke with Kiwi military vets a while ago and they are in agreement that our seas are our most valuable asset in terms of protection yet we have invested barely anything into our submarine capabilities. This would be a very advantageous area for us to invest in given that we do not have the population to compete with troops.
When we were in Ukraine I so badly wanted to go to Russia afterwards however we didn’t have the resources available to us for any remote guarantee of protection over there or a guarantee of our (at the time) Labour Govt causing issues for us trying to get back home. It’s a shame as it would be fascinating to have done street interviews there. The Ukrainians were very forthright with many disagreeing with Zelenskys hand holding with the USA whilst still being passionate about Putin being a dictator. Putin is a master at the publicity spin back to topics he wants to focus on however towards the end of his interview with Tucker I saw a genuinely concerned President who sees that another World War is not likely to be of any benefit to anyone involved.
Our gorgeous boy was born on the 18th November 2023. We’ve decided to keep the rest of his details offline to protect his privacy.
I was terrified to give birth, perhaps I unwittingly willed it into being because nearly everything that could go wrong, did! Diagnosed with preeclampsia we tried waiting to go into labour naturally but ended up booking an induction at 41 weeks after 10 days of endless hospital visits and tests. I’ll spare social media the details however after 40 hours we were very thankful to meet our wonderful bub and incredibly appreciative of the hospital team who helped him arrive safely. I was shocked at the lack of advice for managing pain without medication (something I’ll talk about at a later date) and recovery has been slow hence the step back from work over the last while. Thank you to everyone who has reached out and I will say that although it was tough, the minute this boy was in my arms I thought ‘I would absolutely do that again!’ My biggest advice to everyone now is to have more babies! They are phenomenal and you are missing out if your currently waiting for the perfect time. ❤️ My heart goes out to all the families who are trying and things aren’t quite working out and the lovely mums who have lost their precious wee ones, couldn’t imagine anything more terrifying or heartbreaking. Lots of love, Chantelle
I’m not going to comment any more on this situation as I am currently busy with our wee newborn however I will say that there are conclusions leapt to that the raw data does not support. You are all critical thinkers and I’m sure that any of you with a background in data analysis will easily see the same variables that I did. All the best and have a great weekend. Chantelle
