This article repeats another anti-Chinese propaganda false talking point.

"Facebook, X and other American social-media operations are banned in China and there’s no court they can appeal to there. It would be ironic if the courts allowed TikTok to continue here."

This is based entirely on projecting US supremacism onto other countries, and is a completely false statement.

Certain American tech companies such as Google and Facebook are blocked in China because they refuse to follow Chinese censorship/moderation law, not because they are American. There is "no court they can appeal to" because it is fucking obvious they do not follow Chinese law, and they themselves proudly state so. They can become unblocked simply by following Chinese moderation/censorship law.

Other American tech companies such as Microsoft and Apple do follow Chinese censorship/moderation law, and are not blocked in China.

OTOH the US wants to ban TikTok literally and explicitly for having a Chinese owner i.e. for being Chinese. The only remedy to avoid the ban is to sell TikTok i.e. to become not Chinese. This is not on the same level as having to follow another country's moderation/censorship laws. To equate the two is ridiculous and indicates how brainwashed you are by western propaganda.

The "national security" angle is likewise horseshit, China deals with Tesla by banning it only from sensitive places such as government workplaces, not the entire country.
