"Sunday is a holy day.."
The divine service sanctifies! If the Christian does not go to church on Sunday,how will he be sanctified?
Sunday morning is the time for divine service.. but in our modern Greek society of advanced concepts, life is organized ignoring what the call of the bell and the gathering for divine service mean.
Oh, if they only knew what "rights" they give to the devil and how much more vulnerable they become to his traps, remaining naked from the "grace" of divine service.. - St. Paisios the Athonite

How to celebrate Christmas?
Saint Gregory the Theologian is clear:
“Let us celebrate not with public festivities but in a divine way.
Do not decorate the entrances and streets but your soul.
Do not organize dances or go to feasts and drunkenness
which become the cause of many evils,
but take part in the heavenly feast
where angels dance and sing.
Do not satisfy your eyes and ears with sounds and sights
but run with the shepherds to see the miracle.
Do not fill your belly with excessive food
but taste the heavenly bread of thanksgiving.
Do not dress in luxurious clothes
and do not use dyes
which make natural beauty false
but the pure clothes of virtues.”

When your heart is freed from all grudges, then you are close to love!
And when your heart acquires the blessed peace towards all people, then you are in front of the gate of love!
This gate, however, is only opened by the Holy Spirit!
