What is trauma?

What are the different types of trauma ?

Acute Trauma-> This type of trauma results from a single distressing event, such as an accident, natural disaster, or assault.

Complex Trauma-> Complex trauma occurs due to prolonged exposure to multiple traumatic events, often in childhood, such as abuse, neglect, or community violence.

Secondary Trauma-> Also known as vicarious trauma, this type of trauma results from witnessing or being exposed to the trauma of others, such as healthcare providers, first responders, or therapists.

What are the causes of trauma ?
