What is LLM? Let’s dive in!

Liberland Merits, or LLM, is the citizenship and political token of Liberland. People must stake LLM in a process called Political Pooling (PolitiPooling) in order to be eligible for citizenship. Only citizens can vote in referenda.

LLM are given when people pay voluntary taxes, therefore they represent the financial contributions one has made to Liberland. The more LLM a citizen stakes, the more influence they have in referenda.

To apply for citizenship, an individual must obtain and PolitiPool at least 5,000 LLM. A family citizenship is available at just 10,000 LLM staked! If you want to reduce your political influence, you can unstake LLM at a rate of 10% per year.

Right now LLM is available at a rate of 1 LLM per 2 USD when paying voluntary taxes. That rate could change once LLM is widely available, just as LLD’s value against USD has risen since mid-February.

LLM will soon be available via Uniswap on Ethereum, and PolkaSwap on SORA. This will enable anyone with crypto asssets to acquire LLM, bridge it to Liberland Blockchain using HASHI Bridge, and PolitiPool it!
