How to analyze cryptoprojects on your own: DYOR ?
⠀In yesterday's post, I mentioned various projects. You may have thought: "Maybe I should invest in these projects?" Let me tell you right away that blindly investing never leads to good consequences. Yes, you can be lucky and the price of project token will go up after your purchase, but the probability of that is very low.
Before any investment I advise to conduct a DYOR - Do Your Own Research. How to do it I will tell in this post. Let's go.
1️⃣ We always start with the project website. There you will be greeted with a brief summary of the project, as well be sure to glimpse the Whitepaper/Docs, to study the details.
The questions you should be asking at this point are:• What is this project?
• What are the benefits of it?
• What opportunities does the project provide?
• What plans does the project have for its RoadMap?
RoadMap* - the plan by which the project operates.2️⃣ Funds*Next you need to understand who is the guarantor of success:
• What foundations have supported the project?
• What are the successful cases of these foundations?
• Will the funds be interested in the further development of the project and the token?
? Examples of top funds: Multicoin, a16z, Paradigm, Polychain, Sequoia, Coinbase Ventures, Pantera Capital.
3️⃣ CommunityIt is equally important to assess the hype around the project and audience engagement. Be careful and check official sources. The better the project, the more scam will be around it, and you will be added to different groups offering to transfer money. Do not be fooled by these schemes!
? It is important to evaluate:• How active are the social networks of the project? (Telegram, Twitter, Medium, GitHub, etc.).
• How involved is the team in supporting social media?
• Is there an Ambassador program?
• Nodes (do they do updates and work)?
Also, important:• Who is doing the reposts? If they're done by "real people" and not bots, that's a definite plus.
• Who of the major projects and celebrities are subscribed to Twitter.
➡️ You can use TwitterScore for convenient Twitter analysis.
4️⃣ Project partnershipsEvaluate the credibility and use of other projects.
• How many other projects have already provided support?
• How can they be useful to each other?
• Make sure you check the feedback from partners on your pages (because you can just tag that you are supported by Solana, but they don't even know about you).
• Check the social media subscriptions of celebrities to the project. A good way to monitor Twitter for such "friendships.
❔ It's not possible to tell all the basics for conducting a DYOR in one post. There are many more different points of interest that are important to pay attention to.
• Let's get 15 reactions ? and I'll do a second part about the basic rules of DYOR.
