Question:

السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته

Shaikh I hope you are well. May Allah give you Jannat ul Firdaus. Ameen.
Shaikh I live in the UK and muslims are planning a peaceful protest for Palestine. I learnt that protest are haram but in our mosque they posted an article regarding it making the peaceful protest halal. The link our mosque has posted is below.
-link was removed-
Please could you tell us they have been quoting Ibn Taymiah in this article. Please can you tell us the ruling of peaceful protest?

Please refer to the link below

This issue was dealt with before

I just wanted to comment on the fact that the questioner pointed out that they were quoting Ibn Taymiyyah

The mere fact that someone quotes Ibn Taymiyyah doesn’t mean that they are correct

Many of the people of bidah quote Aayaat from the Quraan and Ahaadeeth from the sunnah in promoting there Bidah

So if one sees a Fatwaa from someone he doesn’t know and cannot decipher for himself then he should stick to the known scholars and work with them.

Also one must continue seeking knowledge.

Note: I am not condemning or defending the Fatwaa mentioned- I didn’t go through it thoroughly

Question:

Assalaamu alaikum
Is it permissible to attend non Muslim weddings

Answer:
وعليكم السلام ورحمة الله وبركاته

The general ruling is that it is allowed unless there are things that make it illegal.
Like alcohol, music and free mixing.

Question:
Asalaamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakthu

I currently reside in the West and a try to maintain a connection to my local community and the brothers here, in order that I may maintain good company and avoid falling into the evils associated with bad company and the many fitan that are present here.

As for the communities in my locality, one of the issues that I have noticed to be very prominent and concerning is the views that the brothers and the imams in the area have regarding the lands of the Muslims and the Muslim leaders.

Ever since the condition of our brother and sisters in Palestine has worsened, they have increased in their criticization of the Muslim rulers, governments, and even scholars. From the things that they say are: "The muslim rulers and scholars are silent and refuse to do anything regarding the affair of our brother and sisters in Palestine", "The governments of the Muslim lands are corrupt", "The scholars are controlled into not criticizing the leaders and speaking out against their injustices" and things of this nature.

From the worst of what they say is that they suggest that the people should revolt against the leaders of the Muslims, they say that those who have acted most honorably are the Shia, they say that Saudi and the Arab nations have taken America and European nations as awliya, and the like of these things.

The people who say these things are either laymen, or from those who possess limited knowledge of the deen, and I have tried to explain that it is not for us as laymen to discusses these matters, as we do not know the situation fully and we do not know the conditions of Jihad. However, they respond that this way of thinking is inspired by propoganda from the Arab nations.

My questions are, how should I respond to those who say these things? What is required of me to respond to and what should I remain silent about? to what level can I associate with these people? What is your advice concerning my situation, especially given the fact that there does not appear to be any other Muslims that live near to me, and I am worried about falling into bad company?

JazakAllahu Khairan, may Allah increase you in knowledge, wisdom, and goodness, may Allah unite us in the highest level of Jannah, may Allah guide us to that which is pleasing to him, may Allah forgive us for our many faults and errors, may Allah rectify the affair of our brother and sisters in Palestine, and the affair of all the Muslims who are being oppressed, may Allah grant the Muslims victory over the oppressors and the disbelievers, may Allah grant us honor and establish us in the land upon his deen, may Allah have mercy on the Muslim rulers and scholars, and may Allah make us from amongst his servants who are granted Jannah without being called to account.
Ameen.

Question:

Assalamualaikum Ustadh i have a question:
Regarding The First Hadith, just a quick question as I was revising,
1. If a person usually doesn't pray his Nawafil with khushuu ie he prays the quickly and properly but when another person is around him he prays it with Khushuu, will this be included in the statement of imam Ahmed?

Answer:
وعليكم السلام ورحمة الله وبركاته
What is meant by the statement of the imaam goes back to the intention
If it is done so as to impress them then it is Riyaa
However if it is done because of one being enthused because of those around him then that is what is meant by his statement
As explained by our shaikh

Question:

assalamualaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh

there's a serious matter happening in my local muslim community and I want to hear your advice

a so called sheikh has 2 wives, but he tried to get a third one behind their backs and tried to convince a sister I know to marry him in secret, he has also harassed another sister through text, sending her a video of "how to give your lover a massage" and saying romantic stuff and "I love you" to her, the sister ignored such messages but he kept going, with his second wife he tried to trick her father, to make him let her go, her father is not muslim but he did not approved this marriage, and the so called shaykh tried to push her to cut ties with her family as well.
With another sister he proposed her 3 times, she refused all, and he said to her that if she refused him, she would stay old and single.
Me and all of these sisters tried to tell this to his 2nd wife, because she's moving to his house next month, and we are very worried about this behavior of his, she did not believed us, and we showed her the proofs. Then his 1st wife said that she will denounce us to the police because we are "slandering" her husband, but we are not, we just warned a sister because of our deep concern... His second wife then said that whoever opposes him is a deviant, and I don't think none of this is correct. What do you think about? please advice us because we fear for his wives

Answer:
وعليكم السلام ورحمة الله وبركاته

Firstly I am sorry I didn’t get to answer you earlier
In these situations it’s unfair to judge and come to a conclusion without hearing from all sides involved
Therefore I’ll comment on areas that I think needs it

Firstly
It is allowed for a man to remarry without his previous wives knowing,

Secondly
His harassment of the sister is not allowed
If there is anyone who can advise him let them advise him
If he was advised but doesn’t heed then leave him

Thirdly:
His second wife’s father consent is not needed
However he should not encourage her to cut ties with her family

Fourthly:
With the sister that he proposed and she refused and his remarks
We must understand that in these situations a lot of time desires and shaitaan takes over hence we may say things we don’t really mean just to try convince the other party

Fifth:
You shouldn’t try to break up his marriages that are already completed

Sixth:
His second wife’s claims that whoever opposes him….. is not necessarily correct

Seventh:
When giving advice to others, be sincere, no personal gains, say what you believe in the best way possible, don’t enforce your opinion.

I would like to remind myself and you to fear Allaah

وفيكم بارك الله
If you are a person who have reached the age of puberty then pay attention on the knowledge that is compulsory upon you
And that is knowing the basics of your religion
Knowing what is compulsory upon you and how to do it
Like the basic fiqh of Salaah, Zakaah and fasting
Along with the basic belief system knowing briefly about the six pillars of Eemaan
Along with the basic fiqh of whatever work or business you are involved in.
This is what is compulsory upon you know that first then pay attention to memorizing the Quraan

Question:
السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته

May Allah increase you in good Ustadh.

My Question is regarding Allah's Names.

From Ilhaad is to give Allah a name which He hasn't mentioned like Qadeem. But some say Ikhbar is permitted? Isn't Ikhbar also giving Allaah a name that He hasn't named Himself and comes under Ilhaad?

Answer:
وعليكم السلام ورحمة الله وبركاته
آمين وإياكم

There are differences between the names of Allaah (asmaa), His attributes (Sifaat) and speaking about Allaah (Ikhbaar).

As for the names of Allaah then these are all beautiful names each name include an attribute or more of Allaah سبحانه
Names are only known by it being mentioned in the Quraan and the Sunnah
They are not derived from attributes
Some of the rulings that are specific to the names of Allaah are that Allaah is called upon by using them and one can be named by enslaving themselves to other than the names of Allaah

The attributes of Allaah
The attributes of Allaah سبحانه are either affirming something for Allaah سبحانه or negating something about Him
The Attributes are known by it being directly mentioned in the Quran or Sunnah or derived from a beautiful name from the names of Allaah

Speaking about Allaah by other than His names and attributes are examined
So if the meaning of what was said is correct and does not imply deficiencies then it can be used and this is what is called Ikhbaar

Neither the attributes of Allaah or what is used to speak about him can be called upon in duaa
Rather duaa is only made calling upon the names of Allaah
However you can praise Allaah with these and you can ask Him by His Attributes.
وجزاكم الله خيرا وبارك فيكم
