This is episode three of the Hearthfire Radio book discussion podcast, the final part in a 7+ hour analysis of Voluspa, the foundational poem of Germanic mythology. In this episode we begin with the narrative of Ragnarok, moving through to the conclusion of the poem, and then we give our final thoughts on this treasure in the Germanic corpus.

Hearthfire Site Redesign — UPDATE

We are getting closer to our launch of the new Hearthfire site. New features will include:

— The site will load faster, look cleaner, and feel more responsive.
— Streaming will be faster and smoother.
— The site will handle many more users.
— There will be ads on some videos.

We also have some more advanced features in the works for later, getting us closer to the full functionality of Odysee and YouTube. But for now the site will be much more useable.

For Scandinavian people, ships are so much more than just a means of transport. This episode tells a story spanning 2700 years of how boats assumed a mythic role relating to the sun during the Nordic Bronze Age, and how this resulted in their own ship-shaped equivalents of Stonehenge which endured into the Viking Age. While the solar cult of the Bronze Age gave way to the religion of the Iron Age gods, familiar from Viking myths, the stone ships persisted, as the ship which had formerly been a mythical vehicle for the sun, became instead a mythical vehicle for the dead.
