When the media covers any event, and before reacting emotionally to that coverage, it can be empowering to remember not everything is all as it seems.

We are, I believe, naturally compassionate beings, but there are, it seems, some who use that compassion against us; to actually fuel hatred with anger and fear.

Or fuel fear with hatred and anger.

Sometimes to love courageously is to simply not believe the lies.

It’s a challenge not to be drawn into commenting on the atrocities of war.

Not to keep talking about the continual poisoning of children by corporations posing as ‘health’ businesses.

But after spending many years pointing out the anti-life propaganda and de-humanising actions of certain groups it became obvious to me that my family and I benefit more from me having a different focus.

A focus on life.

On living it with joy and love in my heart.

On letting people live their lives as they choose: in ignorance or bliss.

By understanding I can never know what is right for another, and in this perfect universe all is as it should be.

Even if it doesn’t make sense to me.

Even if I don’t understand why innocent children suffer.

Even if I don’t always know how I can best contribute to a life of less suffering. For all.

What suffering can I stop?

The suffering I cause myself.

What makes a champion? So many things. And it depends on who you ask. For me, a champion is someone who keeps going. Someone who tries, fails and goes again. Someone who learns, slowly sometimes, to care more about what you think about yourself than what anyone else thinks about you. Or says. You’ve got this. Even if you’ve never done it before and you never thought you would. And even if you feel vulnerable. You can do it. #boxingnewbie #vulnerability
