•Compound sentences- одна из самых очевидных форм сложного предложения📝.
Используйте простые союзы, такие как «и, но, так и еще» чтобы соединить две основные идеи, представленные в двух независимых предложениях🧩.

Пример: Smoking causes lung diseases, yet some people smoke cigarettes.

•Relative clauses📄*
Вы можете использовать придаточные предложения, чтобы дать важную или дополнительную информацию о человеке, месте или предмете🔍. Для этого используются relative pronouns, такие как “who, which and that”💡***.

Пример: Air pollution, which causes many deaths every year, is a huge global problem.

•Conditional Clauses🖇️*
Так же 'If clauses', мы используем их чтобы показать что одно действие может произойти только в случае выполнения определенного *условия*🔏. В английском языке 4 вида conditional sentence и каждый имеет свое значение🪄***.

HOW TO ACE MODIFIERS TYPE OF QUESTIONS ON SAT💯?

Modifier gives additional information about the noun🧩. In English language, there is a rule called subject-modifier agreement which states that a subject needs to be as close as possible to its modifier.

Example:

Consumed in the form of sugars and starches, _____________________________.
A)the human body uses carbohydrates as its primary source of energy
B)carbohydrates serve as the primary source of energy for the human body

Which choice completes the text so that it conforms to the conventions of Standard English?

Here, "Consumed in the form of sugars and starches" is a modifier. What we need to do is to find what this fragment refers to🔎. Is the human body consumed in the form of sugars and starches? No, it does not make sense❌. Carbohydrates are the ones consumed in the form of sugars, so we confidently pick the choice (B)✅.

*🔁To identify these type of questions, you should look at the order of the words in the answer choices🔍. If the arrangement of the words changes in every answer choice, you are dealing with modifier questions, as we saw in the example earlier🔙*.

*📝TIPS:*

• ↩️*As said earlier, *the subject need to stay right after the modier. • ‼️*Be careful about the possessive nouns because they might confuse you. You need to remember that the *noun that follows the possessive is the actual focus☝️. For instance, the word BILON's follower does not refer to BILON. It refers to follower.

Example:

Having returned from the ocean to the stream where it was born,after the modier. • ‼️**Be c after which its offspring start the cycle anew.

A)an adult salmon's life cycle ends when it spawns and dies
B)an adult salmon spawns and dies, completing its life cycle
C)the spawning and death of adult salmon complete its life cycle
D)the life cycle of an adult salmon is complete when it spawns and dies

Who has the ability to be born🧐? Of course, it something/someone that has life🌱. The only answer choice that has the living creature(salmon)🐟 as the first word is (B). (A) is trying to confuse us with the possessives😵‍💫. It does not actually refer to the salmon, but it refers to its life.
