As we commemorate the Fatimiya Nights this year… as we lament Lady Fatima Az-Zahra and her baby Al-Mohsin (peace be upon them), we witness familiar scenes in Palestine … mothers losing their babies and children losing their mothers…. Sometimes we wonder about the lack of helpers of Ahlulbayt (peace be upon them), however, as we witness how the world has betrayed and let down the weak and oppressed in Palestine and elsewhere, we realize that it is rather strange for us to be surprised by the silence of the corrupt leaders, the normalization cowards, and the ignorants who’ve accepted oppression.
The martyred children of Palestine are the guests of Lady Fatima and Al-Mohsin (peace be upon them) during these nights. She wipes away the blood, dusts off the dirt, embraces them in her warm arms, and covers them in her safe Chador. Tonight they are with our Mother, Az-Zahra (peace and blessings be upon her).
