"Certainly with hardship comes ease."

Know that mercy triumphs over anger, forgiveness comes before punishment and blessings triumph over trials. Allah has promised that every difficulty will be made easy, every hardship will be made light, and every challenge will be overcome.

Ibn al-Uthaymin said;

"And who is telling us this, is it not Allah who never breaks His promise? So anytime something becomes difficult for you, wait for relief."

Ibn Abbas mentioned that Allah said; "I have created a single hardship and two eases. Ease will always overcome hardship."

as-Sa'di said: "Whenever there is difficulty and hardship, there is also ease." Even if difficulty enters a hole, ease will enter and eradicate it."

Whatever hurt you are experiencing, relief will undoubtedly arrive. Allah accentuates this and makes it clear. Based on this verse, many scholars have said that for every hardship, there are two easements.

Understand that with poverty is richness, and with hardship is ease, and with sadness is comfort, and with grief is relief, and with every sorrow comes solace.

'You who have held onto patience for long. Keep on to hold on, there isn't much left.' - Ibn a-Qayyim.

The Blessings of Gratitude

Al-Hasan al-Basri (may Allah have mercy on him) said:

"There is no man who sees the blessings of Allah upon him and says:

"الحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي بِنِعْمَتِهِ تَتِمُّ الصَّالِحَاتُ"

"al-ḥamdu lillāhi alladhī biniʿmatihi tatimmuṣ-ṣāliḥāt"

"All praise is due to Allah, by whose favour good deeds are accomplished,' except that Allah enriches him and increases his blessings."

? Hilyat al-Awliya, 2/148.

Imam ash-Shafi'i رحمه الله:

“If you want to rectify your heart, or want to see betterment in your child or companion – or whoever it is for that matter, then direct them to places where the Qur'an is recited and direct them to be in the company of the Qur'an. Allah will then cause them to become better, whether they are willing to it or not.”

Ali Ibn Abi Talib (RadhiAllahu Anh):

"I do not think anyone of intelligence and that knows Islam can go to sleep until he has recited Ayatul Kursi and the last two verses of Sürah Al-Baqarah, for it is a treasure from under the Throne of Allāh."

Imām Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله said: Duā of some of the Salaf was:

اللهم أعزني بطاعتك ولا تذلني بمعصيتك

“O Allāh strengthen me with obedience to You, and do not humiliate me with disobedience to You."

Ibn Rajab al-Ḥanbalī رحمه الله said:

Man! Were you to go to the door of the governor, he would not receive you or give you any attention, perhaps he will even prevent you from getting near him.

But the King of Kings is saying, ‘Whoever comes to Me walking, I will go to him running,’ yet you turn away from Him and run after another! You have been cheated in the worst of manners and you have lost out in the severest of ways!

At “sit downs” one question that is frequently asked is “how much Qur’an have you memorized?” While this question is valid- let’s change it to “how much Qur’an do you implement in your life?”

Dua to recite while you see something good

It was narrated that Aishah Radi Allahu Anha said When the Prophet (ﷺ) saw something he liked,
he would say:
اَلْحَمْدُ لِلهِ الَّذِي بِنِعْمَتِهِ تَتِمُّ الصَّالِحَاتُ
Al-hamdu Lillahil-lazi Bi nimatihi tatimmus-salihat
Praise is to Allah by Whose grace good deeds are completed.

?Du’a (Supplication)

Allah عزوجل says in the Quran : “And when My slaves ask you (O Muhammad, ﷺ ) concerning Me,

then (answer them),

I am indeed near (to them by My Knowledge).

I respond to the invocations of the supplicant when he calls on Me (without any mediator or intercessor).
So let them obey Me and believe in Me, so that they may be led aright.”

— Al-Baqarah, 2:186

Ibn Kathir (رحمه الله ) said:

The fact that Allah, may He be Exalted, mentions this verse, which encourages one to offer Du’a, in the midst of the verses that speak of the rulings on fasting, indicates that one should strive hard in offering Du’a at the end of the fast and, indeed, every time one breaks the fast.
