The Central Bureau of Investigation (#CBI) has recorded the statements of the family members of Azad Yousuf Kumar, a #Kashmiri man who was allegedly unwittingly thrust into the Russia-Ukraine conflict after being deceived.

Azad's elder brother Sajad Ahmed Kumar also said the families of 12 other affected Indian men have been contacted by the CBI and they emphasised their desire for the safe return of their loved ones.

US Embassy faces criticism for inviting activists with controversial background

The invitation extended by the US Embassy in India to Kashmiri activists critical of New Delhi's decision to revoke Article 370 has sparked widespread criticism. Among those attending the Iftar party in New Delhi this week was Nadeem Yousef, an advocate, who shared pictures with American Ambassador to India Eric Garcetti on social media platforms on Wednesday.

Yousef is recognized for his support of former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Mehbooba Mufti, who has voiced opposition to participating in elections until the Indian government reinstates the constitutional provision granting semi-autonomous status to the region.

Another attendee of the US Embassy dinner, Aga Syed Muntazir Mehdi, was among the petitioners challenging the revocation of Article 370 in India's Supreme Court last year.

The 8th century Martand Temple built by Hindu king Lalitaditya Muktapada is the oldest of the Sun temples in India and a symbol of invaluable ancient spiritual heritage and is an ASI-protected monument. It is said that the Martand Sun temple was destroyed on the orders of Sultan Sikandar Shah Miri.
