MSM coverage of UA vs UFS judgment - editor corrects false claims by UFS spokesperson after UA provides proof
The following article regarding judgment in our legal challenge against the University' of the Free State's mandatory vaccination policy was brought to our attention by a parent.

Several false claims were made by the UFS' spokesperson, including that the application had been "dismissed with costs" and was "favourable" for them.

In reality, no costs were awarded to either party, and the judgment even remarks positively on the quality of UA's application in one of the closing paragraphs.

We immediately contacted the editor with proof to request a correction. She committed to remove the offending quotes from the online version and, thankfully, did so almost instantly.

We have confirmed that she did indeed amend the article as promised.

Unfortunately, printed copies of the "wrong" version are still circulating in Bloemfontein.

Nonetheless we are grateful to the editor for responding promptly when presented with proof.

UJ vaccine mandate persists in 2024 Student Agreement
A UJ student has notified us that the university's 2024 Student Agreement confirms the persistence of the UJ Mandatory Vaccination Policy, which, while currently suspended, may be reimplemented if the university believes there is "an adverse effect in the risk to our staff, students, and third parties".

Attached is the document in question, as received by us. Refer to clause 9.1:

"I confirm that I am aware of the vaccination policy (which is available on the UJ website for reference purposes). The UJ Council approved the relaxing of some of the Mandatory Vaccination Policy stipulations and Implementation Protocols. Should there be an adverse effect in the risk to our staff, students, and third parties, UJ may be required to reinstate the suspended measures."
