A new RFC has been posted to the KlimaDAO Forum by MORI NFT, requesting 35,000 USDC in order to onboard 1,000 absorption/carbon removal J-Credits, and make them available on the Carbonmark marketplace.

The J-Credit scheme is administered by the Japanese central government to drive the reduction and removal greenhouse gases from the atmosphere.

KlimaDAO and Coorest Partnership - KIP Vote Now Open!

We are excited to announce that a key proposal has advanced from RFC to KIP stage, designed to proliferate environmental asset liquidity on-chain. The proposal outlines a strategic partnership with Coorest to launch the Digital Environmental Asset Liquidity Program (DEALP).

What is DEALP?
DEALP is an initiative designed to enhance the liquidity and availability of carbon credits within the KlimaDAO ecosystem. This program offers bespoke liquidity solutions to counterparties looking to create liquid markets for their environmental assets.

Why Coorest?
Coorest has agreed to be the pilot partner for DEALP. This collaboration leverages Coorest's technology and KlimaDAO's financial and technological expertise to create a more liquid and resilient market for carbon credits.

Key Terms of the Proposal:
- DAO Swap: Coorest will transfer 2,424,242.42 CCO2 to KlimaDAO, and in return, KlimaDAO will send 24,242.42 KLIMA tokens to Coorest at a fixed rate of 100 CCO2 per KLIMA.

- Liquidity Pool: Coorest will use the received KLIMA tokens to bootstrap a KLIMA/CCO2 liquidity pool.

- Contract Parameters: The DEALP contract will have an LTV of 100%, a local debt limit of 25k KLIMA, and a 0% interest rate.

What Actions Will Be Taken?
- Upon snapshot approval, Coorest will subsequently transfer the agreed amount of CCO2 to KlimaDAO.
- KlimaDAO will reciprocate by transferring KLIMA tokens to Coorest.
- The DEALP contract will be deployed, enabling Coorest to deposit sKLIMA and CCO2 to bootstrap a KLIMA/CCO2 liquidity pool.

The RFC introduces an On-Chain Protocol, known as aOCP. This standard aims for blockchain-based certification of Nature-positive credits. It's grounded on smart contracts and incorporates a peer-to-peer, science-based approach to both carbon and biodiversity tokenization.

proposes the approval of Regen Registry for all projects with credit types equating to carbon. Regen represents a web3 native ecological service registry focusing on a plethora of nature-based solutions including GHG emission reductions, biodiversity protection, and water quality improvement.
