When 'A'ishah (may Allāh be pleased with her) was dying, she said:
I wish I had not been created and I wish I was a tree that made Tasbihāt and fulfilled what is upon me.

This is from her fear of Muhasabah on the day of judgment and it has been narrated from a lot from Salaf. For more readthis post.

Salaf liked and preferred that when a woman is in her menstrual period,to perform Wudu and do Tasbeeh(I.e saying SubhanAllah) and Takbeer(I.e saying Allahu Akbar).

35. Al-Khallal said: Muhammad ibn Abi Harun reported to me that Ishaq ibn Ibrahim reported to them that He said: I asked Aba 'Abdullah about a Muslim woman who should show her hair among the women of the people of Dhimmah. - That is, Jewish and Christian women -
He said: It is not permissible for her to uncover her head among the women of the people of Dhimmah, because Allah says: أَوْ نِسَآئِهِنَّ
their women (An-Nur 31)*

And I heard Abu 'Abdullah was asked about this verse: | أَوۡ نِسَاۤىِٕهِنَّ | (Al-Nur: 31).
He said: "The women of the People of the Book, Jews and Christians, do not kiss or look at Muslim women.

1. Al-Khallal said: Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Matar reported to me that Abu Talib reported that Abu 'Abdullah said: "The women of the People of the Book do not look at their hair. Meaning: Muslim Women’s hair.

2. Abdul Malik al-Maymoni said: . . . . . . . . Abu Abdullah, wouldn't you like a Christian or Jewish woman to look at our Muslim woman?
   He said: "Yes, I don't like it.*

● | وَلَا يُبْدِينَ زِينَتَهُنَّ إِلَّا مَا ظَهَرَ مِنْهَا ۖ and not expose their adornment except that which [necessarily] appears thereof (An-Nur 31)

*11. Al-Khallal said: Muhammad ibn 'Ali reported to me. Mohanna narrated that he said: I asked Imam Ahmad about a man who eats with a woman who was previously married to,but divorced.
He said: "No, he is a foreigner. It is not permissible for him to look at her so what about eating with her and looking at her hands!That is not permissible for him.

1. Al-Khallal said: Mansoor ibn al-Waleed reported that Ja'far ibn Muhammad said: I heard that Abu 'Abdullah(Ahmad)said: "Everything about a woman is her ‘Awrah, even her nails.

2. Al-Khallal said: Musa ibn Sahl reported to me,Muhammad ibn Ahmad al-Asadi reported to me,Ibrahim ibn Ya'qub reported to us from Isma'il ibn Sa'eed al-Shalanji,that Imam Ahmad said: obvious and hidden adornment,clothes,and everything of a woman is ‘Awrah,even her nails.

3. Al-Khallal said: Muhammad ibn 'Ali told me that Mohanna narrated: I asked Ahmad whether a woman should cover her Khoof(a kind of waterproof and thick sock that is like a shoe and has a lots of issues in Fiqh and even ‘Aqeedah books.for more info you can search about it)

He said: yes
I said: Why?
He said: Because it shows the size of her leg.

1. Al-Khalal said: Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Matar reported to me,Abu Talib reported to us that he heard Abu 'Abdullah saying that a woman's nails are ‘Awrah,when she goes outside she should not show her nails,hands and Khoofs.

2. Al-Khalal said: Harb ibn Isma'il al-Kermani reported it to me,’Isa ibn Muhammad reported it to me,Ibn Abi Maryam reported it to us from Yahya ibn Ayyub from Ibn ‘Ajlan from Summay,Mawla of AbuBakr As-Siddiq,saying: every part of a woman is ‘Awrah,even her nails.*
