The duʿāʾ (supplication) of Prophet Adam (A.S.) and Hawwa (Eve) after they sinned is mentioned in the Qur'an.

When they realized their mistake, they turned to Allah in repentance and made the following duʿāʾ:

"رَبَّنَا ظَلَمْنَا أَنْفُسَنَا وَإِنْ لَمْ تَغْفِرْ لَنَا وَتَرْحَمْنَا لَنَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الْخَاسِرِينَ"
"Rabbanaa zalamnaa anfusanaa wa in lam taghfir lanaa wa tarhamnaa lanakoonanna minal khaasireen."
(Translation: "Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves, and if You do not forgive us and have mercy upon us, we will surely be among the losers.")

— Surah Al-A'raf (7:23)

This supplication reflects deep humility, acknowledgment of their mistake, and reliance on Allah's mercy and forgiveness. It is a powerful reminder for believers to always turn back to Allah in repentance when they err.

Ten Powerful Ayat | Recite Them

‘Abdullah bin Masood (radiyAllahu ‘anhu) said,

“Whoever recites Ten Ayat from
Surat Al-Baqarah in a night, then
Shaytan will not enter his
house that night.”

These ten verses are:

• four from the beginning, (1-4)
• the Ayat Al-Kursi (255),
• the following two Ayat (256-257) and
• last three Ayat. (284-286)

In another narration, Ibn Mas’ood (radiyAllahu ‘anhu) said,

“Then Shaytan will not come near
him or his family, nor will he
be touched by anything that he dislikes. Also, if these Ayat were
to be recited over a senile person, they would wake him up.”

[ad-Darimi from ash-Shabi’i (rahimahullah), Sunan ad-Darimi, 2:322, Abridged Tafseer Ibn Kathir (rahimahullah) in Introduction to Surat Al-Baqarah, pg. 96]

Additional Optional Ruqya Ayat to add to these from Al-Baqarah: 05, 102-103 (Sihr), 201-202 (Du’a)

Is there a Prophetic du’a that can help us cope with pain and replace what we have lost with what is even better? Check out this hadith:

Umm Salamah, may Allah be pleased with her, reported that the Prophet ﷺ said: ❛If any servant of Allah is afflicted with a calamity, say:

? Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’oon — We belong to Allah and to Him we shall return;

? Allahumma ajurni fi musibati — O Allah, reward me in my affliction;

? Wa akhlif li khayran minha — And replace it with something better than what I have lost.

Allah will reward him in the affliction, and will give him something better than it in exchange.❜ 【Sahih Muslim 918】

In the same hadith, we learn that when her husband, Abu Salamah (may Allah be pleased with him) passed away, she made the above du’a. Thus Allah bestowed upon her a better substitute — she was soon married to Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.

Remember that The One Who gave us, The One Who took away from us, is also The One Who can replace what we’ve lost with something that is far better. Allah can make the impossible possible. So memorize this du’a, and supplicate it whenever you are faced with a calamity. May Allah ease your hardship and grant you the best for your dunya and akhirah.

Allaah Will Surely Tear Open The Sky Until He Looks At The Person From Amongst The People Of The Earth Who Said It!

The Prophet [ﷺ] said:

❝Whoever says, ‘Laa illaaha ilallaahu Wahdahu La Shareekalahu Lahul Mulku Wa Lahul Hamdu Wa Huwa ‘Ala Kulli Shay’`In Qadeer’ with a sincere heart, attesting to the truth of that with his tongue, then Allaah will surely tear open the sky until He looks at the person from amongst the people of the earth who said it. And the right of the servant whom Allaah looks at is that He grants him whatever he asked for.❞

[An-Nisaa’ee In Amal Al-Yawm Wal-Laylah | Ibn Rajab In Kalimatul-Ikhlaas, (Page: 61) | Sh. Al Albaani: ‘Isnaadun Saheeh’]

-

Upon the authority of Abu Huraira [رضي الله عنه] who said that the messenger [ﷺ] who said:

❝No servant says Laa ilaha illallah sincerely, except that the heavens open up for it and it ascends until it reaches the throne, providing one stays away from the major sins.❞

Ayāt of Sakīnah (Tranquility) | Recite Them Often

Sakeenah is the contentment and peace that Allāh places in the hearts of His servants; it brings peace and tranquility to a person, it makes him calm, it gives him strength and courage at the time of fear, so fitnah does not shake him, tests do not distract him, grief does not consume him, and his eemaan and yaqeen (certainty) increases.

Ibn al-Qayyim (rahimahullah) said about sakinah:

This (having sakeenah during hard times) is a rank among the ranks that Allāh grants; this rank is not (simply achieved) due to man's own effort and earnings.

Ibn al-Qayyim (rahimahullah) also said:

Indeed, Allāh mentioned ‘as-Sakinah' (Tranquility) in His Book in six places:

• al-Baqarah: 248,
• at-Tawbah: 26, 40,
• al-Fath: 4, 18, 26.

He (rahimahullah) further says:

Shaykh Ibn Taimiyyah (rahimahullah) used to read the Ayat of Sakinah if matters became intense for him.

And I heard him talk about a great incident which occurred when he was sick.

The general intellect is too deficient to comprehend how evil souls emerged and fought against him in his state of weakness.

Ibn Taimiyyah (rahimahullah) said, 'When this matter became intense, I said to my relatives and those around me: 'Read the Ayāt of Sakinah'.

Then I became free from this condition, and I sat up as if a transformation had taken place and there was nothing wrong with me (the sickness was gone).'

Ibn al-Qayyim (rahimahullah) said,

I also tried this, and I read these Ayat of Sakinah (at the time) when the heart becomes agitated due to what affects it and (after reciting) I witnessed the amazing effects of these Ayat on the tranquility of the heart and its peacefulness.

[Ibn al-Qayyim (rahimahullah), Madarij as-Salikin]

The Prophet (ﷺ) said:

"Whoever says hundred times in a day; 'Lā ilāha illallāhu waḥdahu lā sharīka lahu, lahul-mulku walahul-hamdu wa Huwa 'alā Kulli shay'in qadīr'

Then it will be for him:

• (an equivalent) of freeing ten slaves,

• and ALLĀH will write for him a hundred good deeds,

• and remove from him a hundred bad deeds,

• and he will remain safe from Shayṭān that day until the evening,

• and no one will come with a better virtue than his except for a man who does more than him."

Ibn al-Qayyim said, "The morning and evening adhkar play the role of a shield; the thicker it is the more its owner will not be affected. Rather, its strength can reach to such an extent that the arrow shot at it will bounce back to affect the one who shot it."

Shaykh Uthaymeen said, "The morning and evening adhkar are a stronger fortress than the wall of Ya'jooj and Ma'jooj, for the one who says it while his heart is present.

And Ibn Salah said, "Whoever maintains the morning and evening adhkar, the adhkar after the prayers, and the adhkar before sleeping will be written among those "who remember Allah much.""

Ibn Katheer said, "Wear the 'coat' of adhkar so it can protect you from the evils of humans and jinn. And cover your souls with istighfar so it can erase the sins of the night and day.
