❝ When Allah blesses you with a chance to help and support your brother, recognise it as a true blessing! Consider yourself the one being helped. Allah has bestowed upon you the blessings to help others and cleanse yourself. You are a mere vessel of opportunity—either you help or you don’t. Remember, Allah will always find a way to support and aid His faithful slaves. Allah selected you and preferred you for the opportunity to be presented to. But if you don’t help yourself by giving charity and reject this blessing of Allah, you have no one to help you and you are accountable for every penny. The angels will make Duah against you and your fortune sooner or later will diminish as it’s void of the blessings of Allah. Exactly what happened to those before you. ❞

The month of Rajab marks the beginning of preparations for Ramadan

The scholars likened the year, and what it contains of special seasons and occasions to several things. The greatest of its special seasons is the month of Ramadan, hence Islam urges us to do more righteous deeds during that month.

One of the most important things is to prepare for doing righteous deeds before the month of Ramadan.

The scholars designated the month of Rajab as the start of the preparations for the month of Ramadan . It is as if the year is a tree; its leaves begin to appear in the month of Rajab, its fruit begins to appear in the month of Shaban, *and the people pick its fruit during the month of Ramadan.

So the individual should prepare himself by doing righteous deeds in Rajab, and pay extra attention to making them perfect in Shaban, so that he will be able to do them in a perfect manner in Ramadan*.

The one who truly fears his Lord, and those shaded by His Shade
Ibn Al-Qayyim رحمه الله said :

"If you reflect on the seven that الله will shade under the shade of his throne the day there's no shade except his shade; you'll find that they only reached that by disobeying their desires."

Ibn Rajab reported: Some of the righteous predecessors said,

“The one who fears الله is not one who weeps and his eyes overflow with tears. Verily, one who fears الله are only those who leave what they desire of the unlawful, when they are able to indulge it. The greatest reward are for those who obey الله in private.”

Al-An'am 6:32

لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِالله : One of the Enduring Good Deeds
Al-Kahf 18:46

ٱلْمَالُ وَٱلْبَنُونَ زِينَةُ ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَاۖ وَٱلْبَٰقِيَٰتُ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتُ خَيْرٌ عِندَ رَبِّكَ ثَوَابًا وَخَيْرٌ أَمَلًا

Wealth and children are the adornment of the life of this world. But the good righteous deeds,[1]that last, are better with your Lord for rewards and better in respect of hope.

◽️Ali bin Abi Talhah reported that Ibn Abbas said:

"This is the celebration of the remembrance of Allah, saying;
La ilaha illallah,
Allahu Akbar,
Subhan Allah,
Al-Hamdu Lillah,
Tabarak Allah,
La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah,
Astaghfirallah,
Sallallahu `ala Rasul-Allah', and

fasting, prayer, Hajj, Sadaqah (charity), freeing slaves, Jihad, maintaining ties of kinship, and all other good deeds.

These are the righteous good deeds that last, which will remain in Paradise for those who do them for as long as heaven and earth remain."

◽️Ibn Jarir al-Tabari narrated that Ibn ‘Umar (رضي الله عنه) was asked about the enduring good deeds, so he said it is La ilaha illa Allah, Allahu Akbar, SubhanAllah, and La Hawla wa la Quwwata illa Billah. [Tafsir al-Tabari 15/255]

◽️La Hawla wa la Quwwata illa Billah has been counted as one of the ‘enduring good deeds’ mentioned in the ayah by some of the Companions and Tabi’in (the generation that followed the Companions). Imam Ahmad narrated that ‘Uthman ibn ‘Affan was asked about the enduring good deeds, so he said it is La ilaha illa Allah, Subhan’Allah, Alhamdulillah, Allahu Akbar, and La Hawla wa la Quwwata illa Billah. [Ahmad, 1/71]

◽️Malik narrated that ‘Umarah ibn Sayyad said that Sa’id ibn al-Mussayyab said, “The enduring good deeds are Subhan’Allah, Alhamdulillah, La ilaha illa Allah, Allahu Akbar, and La Hawla wa la Quwwata illa Billah.” [Tafsir al-Tabari, 15/254]

Merits of saying لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِالله

◽️Al-Manāwi said:
“Nothing opens the locks of affairs like your saying: ‘Lā hawla wa lā quwwata illa billāh (There is no might and no power except with Allāh).’ If the person in need knew what these words contain of help and success and fulfilling of needs he would not leave (saying) them.”

◽️Salih al-Uthaymeen said:

“If you have been exhausted by something, and were unable to do it say: “Laa Hawla Wa Laa Quwwata Illaa Billaah.” (There is no might nor power except with Allah) because Allah the Most High will help you with it, and this saying is not something that is said when some calamity befalls, as done by many people when it is said to them such and such calamity occurred they say: ‘Laa hawla wa laa quwwata illa billaah.’

Rather the dua for afflictions is to say: Inaa lillaahi wa innaa ilayhi raajioon (Truly, to Allah we belong and truly, to Him we shall return).

As for this dua (Laa hawla wa laa quwwata illaa billaah) it is a dua for seeking help. If you want Allah سبحانه و تعالى to aid you with something you say: Laa hawla wa laa quwwata illaa billaah.”
