Alfredo Stroessner was a Paraguayan dictator who was "re-elected" as the country's president eight times and ruled for 35 years, from 1954 to 1989. Grateful Paraguayans smashed his statue, crushed it with a concrete block, secured it with rebar, and wrote "Never again."
This is all that remains in the memory of the people of the dictator.

During World War II, women drew stockings on their legs when there was a shortage of actual stockings in 1942.

The photograph was taken by Richard Drew, a photojournalist for the Associated Press, during the September 11th attack in New York City. The identity of the person in the photo is unknown, as many people jumped out of windows of the building that day to avoid the fire and smoke.

The atomic bomb nicknamed 'Little Boy' destroyed Hiroshima, and 'Fat Man' devastated Nagasaki. After the publication of this photograph, no one discussed or condemned the actions of the US Army. There was a sense of confidence in entering a new atomic age, as well as a belief that history is written by the victors.

In 2001, a railway disaster occurred in Belgium, in which 8 people, including train drivers, died as a result of a head-on collision. Among other accidents, this one is unique in that its main cause was a language barrier.
When the driver of the first train left the station despite the red light of the semaphore, the dispatcher called the next station to warn them. However, the dispatchers did not understand each other because one spoke French and the other spoke Dutch. Both of these languages are official in Belgium, and according to the rules of the railway company, the staff should know at least one of them.
