20-SQUARE GAME
The activity uses a board with 20 squares.
🧩 Make copies of the board and number cards (1-20) for each group. The number cards should be cut and shuffled.
🧩 Divide the class into groups and give each group a board and a set of number cards, placed face down.
🧩 One student picks a number card (e.g., 7), looks at the verb in that square (e.g., "fly"), and forms a sentence using it (e.g., "Last summer I flew to Spain"). The group decides if the sentence is acceptable. If yes, the verb is crossed out and the student’s name is written in the box. Play continues with the next student.
🧩 Set a time limit, and the student with the most squares crossed out at the end wins. The number cards add suspense, keeping students engaged.
NOTE: The board with verbs is ideal for practicing tenses and verb forms, while board with the adjectives focus on comparative and superlative forms. The blank grid on the last page can be used to reinforce recently learned vocabulary

So on all these counts, try to avoid asking students to read aloud text they encounter for the first time. However, if it's a text they are already familiar with and understand, reading aloud may be useful.

? A student chooses a card and talks about what is written on it.

? Repeat the same with the other cubes.
? Tell students to write down the sentence they have made.
