Question: What does Jazakallahu khairan mean?
Answer: It means, "May Allah reward you with the best/goodness". ❤️
🖤 In case of men/boys, one has to say-
➡ Jazakallahu khairan
🖤 In case of women/girls, one has to say-
➡ Jazakillahu Khairan
🖤 In case of unknown gender/multiple people, one has to say-
➡ Jazakumullahu Khairan🌹
What to reply back with?
In case of boys - wa iyyak
In case of girls - wa iyyaki
In case of unknown gender /multiple people : wa iyyakum
Meaning: And You too [This is the one the common message used by people. Muslims can use this phrase sometimes, and abandon it sometimes, but they must not cling to it as if it is an established Sunnah of the Messenger since there is no evidence related to it.] ❤️
Or you can say, Wa Antum Fa Jazakumullahu khayran (And you too, May Allah reward you with goodness). [Albaani has said that the Hadeeh is Saheeh in al-Saheeha 3096, al-Ta'leeqaatul hisaan al Saheeh ibn Hibbaan 6231]
🚩 When to say this?
This is to be said to someone who has done a helpful thing or one who has complimented. ❤️
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
"Whoever some good was done to him, and he says: 'May Allah reward you in goodness' then he has done the most that he can of praise."
Hasan (Darussalam) [Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2035]
And Allah knows best ❤️

Worship ( العبادة) is defined as:
A comprehensive term that incorporates everything that Allaah loves and is pleased with from the statements and actions, both inward and outward.
And thus, worship is of many different types, and they are mentioned in the Qur'an. And when something is declared to be worship, then it is not permissible for it to be directed to other than Allaah, and such worship occurs either in the heart, upon the tongue or through the limbs, all the forms and types of worship fall into any of these three categories.
The greatest of the types of worship is du'a ( الدعاء), "invocation, supplication", and invocation is such that it is accompanied by other forms and types of worship, especially those of the heart, such as love, hope, aspiration, reliance and the likes. And thus, the issue of invocation (du'a) is one that has been dealt with extensively in the Qur'an, in refutation of those who worship others besides Allaah, by making their hearts attached to others besides Him and invoking them (with the presence of such devotion of the heart that is befitting only for Allaah).
Du'a (invocation) is worship
From its proofs are the saying of Allaah:
So, call you (O Muhammad and the believers) upon (or invoke) Allah, making (your) worship pure for Him (Alone)... (Ghafir 40:14)
Ibn Katheer commented:
Meaning, make your worship and your invocation purely and sincerely for Allaah alone, and oppose the pagans in their way and their religion.
And the pagans invoke others besides Allaah, hoping for their intercession or seeking them as a means of approach to Allaah, and Allaah refuted this in the Qur'an, and ordered that only He be invoked.
And also the saying of Allaah:
Invoke your Lord with humility and in secret... (Al-A'raf 7:55)
And also the saying of Allaah:
And the mosques are for Allah (Alone), so invoke not anyone along with Allah. (Al-Jinn 72:18)
Ibn Katheer comments:
The Most High says, commanding His slaves that they single Him out in arena of His worship and that none is invoked alongside Him...
And Ibn Jareer at-Tabari comments:

Amazing Du'a & How the Prophet ﷺ Glorified and Magnified Allah's Praise:
Ibn Abbas (Radiy'Allah'anhu) reported: When the Prophet ﷺ would pray at night, he would say:
Allahumma lakal-hamd. Anta qaiyyimus-samawati wal-ard wa man fihinna. Walakal-hamd, Laka mulkus-samawati wal-ard wa man fihinna.
Walakal-hamd, anta nurus-samawati wal-ard.
"There is no god but Allah. O our Lord! You are the light of the heavens and the earth and whatever is in between. For you is praise. You are the originator of the heavens and the earth and that which is in it and for you is praise. You are the Supporter and the Nourisher and Cherisher and Sustainer of the heavens and earth and that which is in it. And for you is praise.
O Allah you are the truth and your statement is true, and your promise is true, and Jannah is true, and the fire is true, and the prophets are true, and Muhammad ﷺ is true.
O Allah! I believed in you and upon you I have put my trust and to your judgment I have submitted and to you I complain, forgive me that which I’ve done in the past and what I’ve yet to do, and which I’ve done publicly and which in secret, and that which you know more about me than me. You are the first and you are the last there is no god but you."
This is how Prophet Muhammad ﷺ pursued the pleasure of Allah i.e. by praising Him and worshiping Him in a way by Allah that no one could ever do. And this is how his heart was connected with Allah.

❗️What To Say To Avoid Giving Evil Eye
Now days we find many Muslims that have been effected by evil eye, especially when people are sharing their lives on social media which allows everyone to see what is happening and not every person who sees people’s lives pray for blessings for them. Following are some supplications to say.
Many people now days say - ما شاء الله - Mā shā’ Allāh – Whatever Allāh Wills, this is not what is meant to be said when a blessing is seen on another believer. Rather a supplication of blessing for that person is what is prescribed.
Some supplications to say when you see a blessing on someone else:
Tabārak Allāh - May Allāh bless you.
Allāhumma bārik fihī - O Allāh bless him.
Allāhumma bārik fihā - O Allāh bless her.
Allāhumma bārik `alayhi - O Allāh send your blessings upon him.
Allāhumma bārik` alayhā - O Allāh send your blessings upon her.
Tabaarak Allāhu ahsan al-Khāliqīn, Allāhumma bārik fīh - Blessed is Allāh the best of Creators, O Allāh bless him.
Tabaarak Allāhu ahsan al-Khāliqīn, Allāhumma bārik fīh - Blessed is Allāh the best of Creators, O Allāh bless him.
Action plan:
- Memorise and say when witnessing blessings on others.
- Always supplicate for good for the Ummah
May Allāh protect us all from evil eye. Amīn
The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said, “If one of you sees something from his brother, or in himself, or in his wealth which impresses him, then supplicate for him to be blessed in it. Verily, the evil eye of envy is real.” Musnad Ahmad (no. 15700). Authenticated by Shaykh Al-Albānī in Silsilah As-Sahīhah (no. 2572).
