British Foreign Secretary David Lammy announced the suspension of certain arms sales licenses to Israel—this is the first time such action has been taken since the start of the Israeli forces' operation against Hamas terrorists in the Gaza Strip.

According to Lammy, the British government made the decision after reviewing export licenses, which revealed a "clear risk" that these arms could be used in violation of international law. The Foreign Secretary noted that the suspension will affect around 30 out of the 350 licenses.
