Remembered sth from yesterday.
A younger student asked, why didn’t I go to the US and came to Qatar to study instead.
“Ouuu the Great Democracy?! Woow, the freedom of speeeech. AmeRiCaaaa”
Come on guys, no hate, but it’s just another country. If you count +- probably worse than many other alternatives.

CMUQ is CS focused, even bio and business students take CS courses. During the lecture professor says “this is x and this is y, and here is the question. Now, CODE! Just code it is only 2 lines.” ?

1 month in Qatar??
It all started with me and my luggage, going with a transfer, alone, in my first international flight. Transfer in Tbilisi was a really bad idea, I went through 10x problems in a matter of minutes, at one point barely kept my tears (30 mins before flight when I still didn’t get my transfer ticket). But anyways, I did it right??

First two weeks was all fun. New friends, orientation week, hang outs, food, traditions. Despite the fact that I already “over-idealized” life in Qatar before arrival, it still met and exceeded my expectations.

Third week: welcome to real CMUQ. Still there are endless events, clubs, entertainment. But now you have to put your head down and study ? Is it difficult? If you study on time, attend office hours, SI sessions and seek help, you’ll be just fine. (Just like at NU!) So far I am doing ok, thank God.

I had several “dream come true” tweets especially when it comes to Islam in Qatar. I was shocked: They gave free handout books about introducing the Islam to newcomers. Growing up in a country where people are forced to hide anything related to religion, it felt so surprising and warm.

Now that I have several deadlines coming up, writing post as a matter of mental break? as usual, wish me luck ?
