Incident: Republic E175 at Newark on Jun 24th 2024, cracked windshield
A Republic Airways Embraer ERJ-175 on behalf of United, registration N763YX performing flight UA-3702 from Newark,NJ to Greenville-Spartanburg,SC (USA), was climbing out of Newark's runway 22R when the crew stopped the climb at 7000 feet reporting they had a cracked windshield. The aircraft returned to Newark for a safe landing on runway 29 about 40 minutes after departure.
A replacement Embraer ERJ-175 registration N746YX reached Greenville-Spartanburg with a delay of 3.5 hours.
The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground in Newark about 16 hours after landing back.

Incident: J-Air E170 at Aomori on Jun 22nd 2024, engine fire indication
A J-Air Embraer ERJ-170 on behalf of JAL Japan Airlines, registration JA216J performing flight JL-2154 from Aomori to Osaka Itami (Japan) with 47 people on board, was climbing out of Aomori when the crew reported a left hand engine (CF34) fire indication and returned to Aomori for a safe landing about 30 minutes after departure.
The airline reported the crew received indication of a left hand engine fire. It is being investigated whether there was actually a fire.
Incident: Austrian E195 at Klagenfurt on Jun 3rd 2024, lightning strike
An Austrian Airlines Embraer ERJ-195, registration OE-LWD performing flight OS-939 from Vienna to Klagenfurt (Austria), was on approach to Klagenfurt when the aircraft received a lightning strike. The aircraft continued for a safe landing on runway 28R.
The aircraft remained on the ground for about 19 hours, then returned to service.
A passenger reported on approach to Klagenfurt the aircraft received a lightning strike, some cabin lights as well as the Public Address System failed.
The airline reported the aircraft sustained a lightning strike. The aircraft underwent a lightning strike inspection and returned to service the following morning.

Incident: Azul E195 at Sao Paulo on May 27th 2024, long takeoff
An Azul Linhas Aereas Embraer ERJ-195, registration PR-AXX performing flight AD-2610 from Sao Paulo Congonhas,SP to Rio de Janeiro Santos Dumont,RJ (Brazil), was departing Congonhas' runway 35L when the aircraft rotated for takeoff just short of the runway end and became airborne at the runway end. The aircraft climbed out to safety and continued to Rio de Janeiro for a safe landing.
The airline reported they opened an internal investigation into flight AD-2610.
Brazil's CENIPA reported the aircraft took off past the usual point, the flight continued without further complications. The occurrence was rated an incident and is not being investigated.
Accident: KLM Cityhopper E190 at Amsterdam on May 29th 2024, person ingested into engine
A KLM Cityhopper Embraer ERJ-190, registration PH-EZL performing flight KL-1341 from Amsterdam (Netherlands) to Billund (Denmark), was preparing for departure, at least one engine (CF34) was already running after push back had been completed, when a person was ingested into the left hand engine and was killed.
The airline reported a horrific accident happened when a person ended up in an engine of flight KL-1341.
The DSB announced three investigators have been dispatched on site of the accident.
A ground observer reported the aircraft had been fully pushed back onto the taxiway, the left hand engine had been started during push back when the aircraft was already clear of the gate and completely on the taxiway. The crew had already received the "all clear" signal when the person was ingested into the left hand engine.
The aircraft is still on the ground in Amsterdam.
On May 30th 2024 Koninklijke Marechaussee, Royal Military Police, announced:
An incident occurred on the tarmac at Schiphol on Wednesday afternoon in which a man fell into the running engine of an aircraft and died. The aircraft had just completed the pushback procedure and was about to taxi to the runway.
The deceased man has been identified. The victim worked at a company at the airport. Investigation showed that he deliberately climbed into the engine. This is a case of suicide. Out of compassion for the victim and the surviving relatives, we will not make any further announcements.

Incident: BA CityFlyer E190 at London on May 26th 2024, bird strike
A BA CityFlyer Embraer ERJ-190, registration G-LCYR performing flight BA-8474 from Malaga,SP (Spain) to London City,EN (UK), had departed Malaga's runway 13, climbed to FL360 and landed on London City Airport's runway 27 completing a seemingly uneventful flight.
During pre-flight preparations for the next sector BA-8455 to Amsterdam it was discovered however, that the left hand engine (CF34) had ingested a bird. Passengers, who had already boarded the aircraft, disembarked again, and the flight was cancelled.
A passenger booked onto BA-8455 reported that the captain announced during pre-flight preparations it was discovered that the #1 engine had ingested a bird presumably during the previous flight.
On May 22nd 2024 the BEA reported the aircraft had a left main gear unlocked indication. The aircraft landed on runway 14R and stopped on the runway. The occurrence was rated a serious incident and is being investigated.
