Sad to announce that Sheikh Prof. Dr.Yusuf 'Abdullah al-Qaradhawi has passed away this afternoon.
-He is one of the most influential islamic scholars because of his contributions to our religion.

Brief information about him :

- His full name was Yusuf bin Abdullah bin Ali bin Yusuf. Born in 1926 at a village called Shafat at-Turab, Mahallah al-Kubra, Gharbiah, Egypt.
- His father died when he was 2 years old. He has been taken care of by his mother, uncle and his grandfather.
- His mother died when he was at his secondary education
- He famously known for his cleverness and always got the first place in any exam. Except for the final exam when he got the second place in all Egypt. With a small margin from the first place.
- He continued his studies at al-Azhar University in Faculty of Islamic Studies (Usuluddin)
- He got his PhD title when he wrote his dissertation with the title Zakat and its influence in solving social problems. His dissertation got published in many world languages.

His contributions :
- He preached a lot and produced a lot of works that made reference to other scholars either with his fatwa or his opinion.
- He has authored almost a hundred books in various fields of Islamic science, especially in the social field, da'wah and Islamic studies. His books are very popular with Muslims all over the world. Even the books have been reprinted dozens of times and translated into various languages.
