So why the attack on black history month?

We believe that any history month is inherently divisive, especially when only select ethnicities are allowed a history month. Black history is American history. It should be taught to our children throughout their study of the story of America wherever it falls on their academic timeline. Learning about the American revolution in September? Talk about Crispus Attucks in the same lesson as the Boston tea party. Learning about the industrial revolution in March? Talk about Booker T. Washington in the same lesson as John D. Rockefeller. Segregating history segregates those learning it. Teach our children they are Americans first. Not black culture, not white culture, just American culture.
