Nowadays because of digital technology it is possible for not only studios but also individuals to produce their own films.

Do you think this is a positive or negative development?

Essay:

*The union of filmmaking and technology has perhaps never been more powerful or more important than it is today, with breakthroughs in digital technology making the production of films possible for not only studios but also individuals. While this development may bring about several challenges for cinemas and theatres in general, I believe the trend is far more positive given that production costs and times-to-release have been slashed.

Advances in digital technologies are revolutionizing filmmaking across the entire project lifecycle, from editing to release. Since film distribution has increasingly shifted to online platforms, say, Netflix, the majority of people, if not all, may prioritize watching movies from the comfort of their home over visiting cinemas or theaters. While this change might appeal to people as they can enjoy movies from their homes, it could potentially lead to a decline in the monetization of cinemas and theaters. If they cannot attract the needed number of cinemagoers, they may end up shutting down, leading to the dominance of online apps in the film industry.

Nevertheless, production costs are not only significantly lower than ever before but are also lightyears ahead of them in functionality. Digital cameras, for example, are equipped with features that would have been extremely expensive just a few years ago, allowing everyone who is into filmmaking, whether they have access to a studio or not, to bring their craft to the next level. By being able to add special effects and edit errors in real-time, these individuals can significantly reduce operational costs and eliminate the need for reshoots.

In addition, an elevated times-to-release schedule facilitated the way people watch movies and filmmakers make movies. Releasing films is now done within a short period of time having been made—a scenario that took months to finish back then. This accelerated release schedule allows people to enjoy movies from the comfort of their own homes much sooner than before.

In summary, although digital technology innovations may limit film production in cinemas and theatres, I believe they provide numerous benefits to filmmakers, allowing them to produce films more affordably and release them more quickly.*

*Some school leavers travel or work for a period of time instead of going directly to university.

Does this have more advantages or disadvantages to their studies?*

Essay:

*Once out of high school, young people face countless paths in life that they can choose to embark on. A prevalent practice here is to travel or work rather than continuing directly to study at university. Although this trend has its trade-offs, I believe its advantages are far greater, as students gain exposure to diverse perspectives and acquire valuable hands-on experience.

On the one hand, I can see why traveling or working instead of attending university is viewed as having drawbacks. Firstly, it is important for young people to be educated in their chosen fields, and taking a gap year right after graduating might lead students to lose their interest in returning to academic life. Specifically, when young people start to earn a decent or even a significant, amount of money, they may be inclined to prioritize continuing to work over pursuing higher education. This could potentially result in them missing out on the long-term benefits that a university education provides.

On the other hand, traveling offers significant benefits that can greatly impact students’ lives in general. Exploring new places and interacting with new people who may have completely different social, economic, and cultural backgrounds can provide a more objective picture of modern reality. By learning to appreciate and embrace these differences instead of using them as a basis for hatred and prejudice, young people can develop well-rounded personalities and matured mindsets, thereby expanding their worldviews.

In addition, when working young people might happen to realize how hard it can be to make a living not only to sustain themselves but also their families. By understanding the true value and power of money, these people might find it easier to manage their finances later on - an important life lesson that is often not taught at universities. While working they would acquire practical skills, say, both soft and hard, than can significantly increase their employability as opposed to other job seekers with little to no working experience.

In summary, there are adequate advantages to believe that it is better to invest the time available during a gap year into getting experience by working and traveling instead of going to university. This approach helps young people develop a broader perspective on the world and gain essential skills that are crucial for success in life.*

It is impossible to help all people in the world, so governments should focus on people in their own countries. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Essay:

*There is a view that helping all people in the world is an impossible task, thus making governing authorities focus on their people rather than being concerned about traditional issues. Even though I support humanitarian aid to other countries when needed, I strongly agree with the above statement since the world can be a better place if individual governments shoulder the responsibility regarding domestic issues.

Countries may experience various crises in different circumstances, including but not limited to earthquakes. True, these natural disasters cannot be precisely predicted and a nation suffering from it may face unprecedented challenges. In this scenario, international aid from neighboring countries would prove a boon to recover from the crisis as fast as possible. Turkey’s case can be an epitome in this respect. When this country had devastating earthquakes, about 105 countries, and 16 international organizations pledged to earthquake victims and provided humanitarian aid. Such support can be morally right and can boost political relationships between countries, but this financial assistance should only take place if the country can provide considerable resources.

In the modern economic climate, however, economic stability is a key to prosperity. Responsible officials should create necessary conditions for their citizens so that the latter can lead a sustainable lifestyle. For example, if there are enough employment opportunities, and shelter for everyone, and the rate of poverty is below average, countries would be ensuring fulfillment in the domestic environment, keeping locals content about their day-to-day lives. By contrast, there are several countries where it is possible to see the complete opposite. Some of them are still in their infancy but concentrate on other neighboring countries by either interfering with their policies or providing financial support. Such actions can help them compromise the sovereignty of certain states, which is now the case in some African countries where external influence is evident.

I should also stress the importance of having a less utopian approach to dealing with some global and local issues. In other words, there is no place for total perfectionism since problems of different nature have always plagued our planet in different eras. Therefore, countries should endeavor to cope with as many problems as possible but not to an extent where they insist that they could find a panacea to all worldly concerns.

In summary, I fully believe that governments should prioritize dealing with internal challenges, and only assist countries when there is a surplus of their resources.*
