Let Go... ?✨
Recently, I went to the funeral of a young man, just a year older than me. It was a sad day but what truly struck me was the strength of his mother.
She wasn't crying but there was a deep sadness in her eyes. Yet, through the grief, she kept saying how proud she was. "My greatest achievement was having a son like him."
Their whole family is kind and helpful. He was always special, even able to meditate for hours on end??♂ But seeing his mother's strength in that moment – it was something else entirely.
Everyone present was so inspired by her. Even in the midst of her loss, she found the strength to distribute a book on meditation she had printed herself♥️, in memory of her son.
This whole scene made me realize, as someone who cries easily, that I need to be stronger. Life throws curveballs and we all need to be prepared. That's why I'm inspired to practice letting go.
Letting go isn't about forgetting or not caring. It's about accepting that nothing is permanent. We can't hold onto things or people forever, no matter how much we want to?

Make sure to filter what goes into your brain. Nothing is more important than focusing on what truly matters✨
Today I felt overloaded. So much random info came my way, it was hard even to focus on my lecture. Such a bummer?**
A Heartfelt Harmony✨
"You remind me of my mom" grandpa used to say, his eyes crinkling at the corners as he ruffled my hair. Every day after school, I'd race home, stomach rumbling. Grandpa, always a step ahead, would greet me with a warm smile and a paper bag. "Bun from the bakery?" he'd ask, knowing full well the answer was always yes.
Then we'd get started on lunch. Grandma would chop vegetables while grandpa and I, a team of two, would tackle the rice and curries. "A little more water, chooty" he'd instruct, his voice warm. We weren't fancy cooks, but our meals were filled with love, the scent of spices clinging to the air like a hug?
Some nights, instead of the bright overhead light, we'd turn off everything and light candles. Flickering candlelight would paint dancing shadows on the walls. Then, we'd sing. Old songs, their melodies carrying us back to simpler times. His voice, a little rough around the edges, would blend with mine, filling the quiet with a bittersweet harmony.
Grandpa wasn't just good at cooking and singing. He was good at maths as well as fluent in three languages. He had a wisdom that came from living a long life. He'd lived through wars and seen the world change. The lessons he learned, the stories he held, were a treasure trove. And he shared them all with us, his voice gentle, his eyes twinkling with the light of a thousand experiences.
He was very kind too. Always the first to help a neighbour in need, a shoulder to lean on, a wellspring of advice, both practical and heartfelt. He'd hop on his bicycle and happily pedal along the village path.
Grandpa taught me about love. Though he and grandma were married by an arranged marriage, they were the best couple I had ever seen. They had ups and downs, times of scarcity and times of wealth but they still loved one another through it all. There was one childhood dream I held close: to buy Grandpa something special with my own money. Thankfully, that dream came true before it was too late?
Years flew by. We both grew older, day by day. My studies kept me away from home more and more. Grandpa's trusty bicycle trips around the village became walks with the help of his new companion, a sturdy walking stick.
Today, it's been two years since he left us. Two years since his big heart stopped beating, taking a piece of mine with it. It's been hard, moving on without him. But grandpa wouldn't want me to be sad. He'd want me to live, to laugh, to sing even louder.
He'd remind me, with that same twinkle in his eye, "Never forget, your loved ones come first. Because when the time comes, all that glitters - money, fame - pales in comparison to the love you shared."
Hold your loved ones close, tell them you love them. Don't wait until it's too late. For in the end, it's the love we share that truly matters❤️?
