Imagine if someone comes to me and confesses that he committed zinā’, and I look at him with disgust and tell him that he did a horrible crime because he violated the law of the church. This is unacceptable even if Islām prohibits zinā’ as well, because it implies that I believe in the law of the church and because it’s a form of granting legitimacy to it.

The same logic applies when it comes to Muslims criticising Israel and other enemies of Islām for their crimes against Muslims on the basis that they’re committing “terrorism”, which is a crime under international law. It’s wholly unacceptable even if the sharī`ah also opposes their actions, because it implies belief in international law and because it’s a form of granting legitimacy to it.

It also gets very problematic in another sense. Under the law of the church, it would be adultery to have intercourse with a second wife or a slave. This means that belief in this law and perpetuating belief in it by granting it legitimacy leads to opposition to the sharī`ah.

Likewise, “war crimes” under international law include both acts that are enjoined and acts that are prohibited by the sharīah*. So to believe in international law and perpetuate belief in it by granting it legitimacy leads to opposition to the *sharīah.

⭕️ Brothers and sisters, sometimes when we do something to support Allah Almighty's religion, we might get the feeling that we are accomplishing a great deed that no one else in our neighborhood, workplace, or land is doing.

So we might think that our sins will never lead us astray, and that we will never be stripped out of the role we are playing, or even die until we complete this mission. Because this means depriving the people of the good we are spreading. In summary:
To feel that people are in need of us, even more, that Islam itself needs us!

This feeling is positive and commendable only to the extent that motivates and pushes us to bear the responsibility so we don’t immerse ourselves in this worldly life and abandon our role in Dawah that benefits humanity.

‘You have been set to be a part of a great cause... So be wary of living like the heedless’
But sometimes, this feeling could become dangerous.

If it causes us to slack in obeying Allah Almighty’s commands, or belittle our sins; or become confident that Allah won't punish us for this by making our hearts veer away or prevent us from continuing the good we are doing. Because we perceive ourselves as the means through which Allah benefits his creation and guides them, so if we become astray then so will the people.

Hence comes the divine clarification that Allah the Exalted isn't in need of anyone. Rather, it's we who need to support His religion; "If you should turn away [from the call of duty and belief], He will replace you with some other folk who then will not be like you at all" (Qur'an Translated Meanings 47:38). Meaning; He will replace you with some other people that will not ignore Allah’s duty and commands. As simple as that.

This divine clarification is directed, in the first place, to the companions of the prophet ﷺ, who bore the Message of Islam, and without whom Islam could have been lost, as it might seem to us. However, Allah Almighty tells them: "If you should turn away [from the call of duty and belief], He will replace you with some other folk who then will not be like you at all". (Qur'an Translated Meaning 47:38).
Rather, even Muhammad ﷺ; the most beloved to Allah of all mankind was told by Allah, the Exalted: “Had We not given you stability, you were about to incline towards them a little. Then We would have made you taste double in life and double at death, then you would have found for yourself no supporter against Us.” (Qur'an Translated Meaning 17:74-75)
I knew some people whom I thought Allah will not take their souls before they accomplish their tasks. Yet they died at a young age and Allah appointed others to serve His religion.

In the hadith which Al-Albani graded as 'Hasan', Our prophet ﷺ said: “Allah will continue to plant new people in this religion and use them in His obedience.”
So, brothers and sisters, ask Allah to utilize you in His obedience, for Allah the Almighty does not need anyone, but rather, it's we who are in need of Him, the Exalted; "O mankind, you are those in need of Allah, while Allah is the Free of need, the Praiseworthy. If He wills, He can do away with you and bring forth a new creation. And that is for Allah not difficult.” (Qur'an Translated Meaning 35:15-17)
Islam will win with or without you. Allah will perfect His light, even to the dismay of the disbelievers. But it is you who is in need of supporting Allah's religion; that you may be saved and attain a lofty status.

Some points:

~ I don't know the person behind the website, nor do I care about that, but I've watched the video myself, so I know that the Shaykh actually said this.

~ One may wonder, "What Jihad and Shahadah is the Shaykh referring to?" Qutb never fought in any battle against the kuffar, he was executed after a failed attempt to overthrow the Murtad ruler of Egypt at that time.

~ Note that the Shaykh speaks about the name of the work, it's literary stye, it's contents (including its mistakes) and the need for it to be read repeatedly to be fully understood- this clearly indicates that he read it thoroughly and carefully- unlike those who merely read it from critical secondary sources with an already biased outlook.

~ So, based on what criteria is praise of Qutb's books sometimes a sign of deviancy (like in the case of Shaykh Salih alMunajjid), and sometimes not? Keeping in mind that "He wasn't aware of Qutb's speech in xyz matter" isn't an excuse due to what we established in the previous point.

~ Ofcourse, one may resort to claiming that the Shaykh is ignorant of politics or didn't fully understand what Qutb said or did (while simultaneously claiming that these are the Mashaayikh one should return to for guidance in complex geo-political issues and Jarh wad Ta'deel), but I doubt anyone wants to go there.

اَللَّهُمَّ انْصُرِ الْمُجَاهِدِينَ يُجَاهِدُونَ فِي سَبِيلِكَ
O Allah, grant victory to the mujahideen who are fighting in Your cause.

اَللَّهُمَّ مَكِّنْهُمْ فِي الأَرْضِ وَتَقَبَّلْ شُهَدَاءَهُمْ وَأَلْحِقْنَا بِهِمْ فِي الآخِرَةِ
O Allah, empower them on the earth and accept their martyrs and join us with them in the Hereafter.

اَللَّهُمَّ فَرِّجْ عَنْ عُلَمَائِنَا الصَّالِحِينَ الَّذِينَ سُجِنُوا مِنْ أَجْلِ دِينِكَ
O Allah, relieve our righteous scholars who were imprisoned for Your religion.

اَللَّهُمَّ أَرِنَا الْحَقَّ حَقًّا وَارْزُقْنَا اتِّبَاعَهُ وَأَرِنَا الْبَاطِلَ بَاطِلًا وَارْزُقْنَا اجْتِنَابَهُ
O Allah, show us the truth as truth and grant us the ability to follow it, and show us falsehood as falsehood and grant us the ability to avoid it.

رَبَّنَا لَا تَجْعَلْنَا مَعَ قَوْمِ الظَّالِمِينَ وَنَجِّنَا بِرَحْمَتِكَ مِنَ الْقَوْمِ الْكَافِرِينَ
Our Lord, do not place us among the wrongdoing people and save us by Your mercy from the disbelieving people.

اَللَّهُمَّ أَصْلِحْ عَقِيدَتَنَا وَثَبِّتْنَا عَلَى طَاعَتِكَ وَتَوَفَّنَا مُسْلِمِينَ وَأَلْحِقْنَا بِالصَّالِحِينَ
O Allah, rectify our faith, keep us steadfast in obeying You, let us die as Muslims, and join us with the righteous.

اَللَّهُمَّ تَقَبَّلْ مِنَّا مَا كَانَ صَالِحًا وَأَصْلِحْ لَنَا مَا كَانَ فَاسِدًا
O Allah, accept from us what is righteous and rectify for us what is corrupt.

اَللَّهُمَّ أَعِزَّ الْإِسْلَامَ وَالْمُسْلِمِينَ وَأَذِلَّ الشِّرْكَ وَالْمُشْرِكِينَ أَنْتَ الْعَزِيزُ الْجَبَّارُ لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِكَ
O Allah, honor Islam and the Muslims, and humiliate polytheism and the polytheists. You are the Almighty, the Compeller. There is no power nor strength except with You.

اَللَّهُمَّ انْفَعْنَا بِمَا عَلَّمْتَنَا وَعَلِّمْنَا بِمَا يَنْفَعُنَا وَزِدْنَا عِلْمًا
O Allah, benefit us with what You have taught us, teach us what will benefit us, and increase us in knowledge.

اَللَّهُمَّ لَيِّنْ قُلُوبَنَا اَللَّهُمَّ لَيِّنْ قُلُوبَنَا اَللَّهُمَّ لَيِّنْ قُلُوبَنَا
O Allah, soften our hearts. O Allah, soften our hearts. O Allah, soften our hearts.

On the Day of 'Arafah

Imam Nawawi (may Allaah have mercy on him) said in his book alAdkhaar:
{.... The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: (the best dua' is on the day of Arafah, and the best of what I and the prophets before me said is:

لا إله إلا الله وحده لا شريك له، له الملك وله الحمد وهو على كل شئ قدير

So it is recommended to increase in dua' & dhikr & to strive in this. For this is the most virtuous day of the year for dua, which is most of the Hajj, and for it is it’s aim and reliant on it so it's necessary that a person should spare his energy in dhikr and Dua, in reading the Qur'an, making dua & dhikr in every place, by himself or in a group, making dua' for himself, his parents, relatives, shuyukh,  companions, friends, his lved ones, and all others who are good to him, and for all muslims, and to be very careful not to fall short in all this, for indeed this day cannot be rectified; in contrast to other days. And it is not burdensome (to have) rhythm in supplication, for it occupies the hearts and removes brokenness and humiliation. And with Khushuu’, there is no problem in supplication using memorised supplications for himself or others, if one is occupied with the burden of its neatness and complying with it syntactically.

The sunnah: to lower his voice when making dua', to increase in seeking forgiveness, making tawbah from all offenses, with faith in the heart. He is persistent in dua, repeating it over again, and he is not slow to answer the call.

He opens his supplication and closes it with Al-Hamd to Allah Almighty (saying الحمد لله، for eg), praise to Him, Exalted is He, and sending Salaat and salaaam to the messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and closing it with that.

And he should be eager to face the Kaaba, and be in a state of purity. [End quote]

Virtue of The 10 Days of Dhul Hijjah & ShahādahAmong the special seasons of worship are the first ten days of Dhul Hijjah, which Allāh has preferred over all the other days of the year.

Ibn 'Abbās reported that the Prophet ﷺ said: “There are no days in which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allāh than these ten days.” The people asked, ‘Not even Jihād for the sake of Allāh?’

He ﷺ said, “Not even Jihād for the sake of Allāh, except in the case of a man who went out to fight giving himself and his wealth up for the cause, and came back with nothing [was killed].” Ṣaḥīḥ Bukhārī (no. 969).

**Benefits from the narration:

Virtue of the first 10 days of Dhul Hijjah:**- The great virtue of worship in the first 10 days of Dhul Hijjah.

- The first 10 days of Dhul Hijjah are loved by Allāh.

Virtue of performing righteous deeds:- It is proven that Salāh, reciting Qur’ān, giving charity and general righteous deeds are more rewarding in these days then doing them in the daytime of any other month.

Virtue of Jihād:- Jihād was asked by the companions because they knew Jihād has a great status in Islām and the great virtue it carries as mentioned in the narration of Abū Dhār when he narrated, I asked the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ ‘Which action is the most virtuous?’ He replied, “Faith in Allāh and Jihād in His Cause.” Ṣaḥīḥ Bukhārī (no. 2518).

- The companions asked “Not even Jihād for the sake of Allāh?” which shows the understanding of the companions that Jihād was one of the most virtuous deeds in Islām.

Virtue of Shahādah in the way of Allāh:- The virtue of Shahādah – being killed in the path of Allāh – is clear from the narration , “except in the case of a man who went out to fight giving himself and his wealth up for the cause, and came back with nothing.” – this indicates that striving in the way of Allāh with wealth and ones life and being accepted as a Shahīd by Allāh is more rewarding then righteous deeds done in these days.

- The Shahīd has many blessings, from them is all his sins are forgiven and is only accountable for debt. Abdullāh ibn Amr reported: The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said, “The martyr is forgiven for every sin except debt.” Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim (no. 1886).

- The virtue of Shahīd is usually not mentioned by speakers today when mentioning this narration, but those that striving in the path of Allāh today with their wealth and life and are killed in the way of Allāh is more rewarding then all the righteous deeds done in the days of Dhul Hijjah.

- The Prophet ﷺ measured the virtues of Dhul Hijjah against Jihād because the great virtue of the deed. Nothing surpasses worship in the first 10 days of Dhul Hijjah in virtue except Shahādah in the way of Allāh.

Action plan:- Strive hard in doing good deeds in these 10 days as much as possible. Like reciting Qur'ān, Salāh, charity and more.
- Increase in making supplications and especially for those that are striving in the path of Allāh against oppression.
- Plan the next few days and free some time every day for the remembrance of Allāh.

فأجابه الإمام أحمد جواب من يعرف ماذا يريد، ومن ضبط بوصلة وجهته نحو طِلْبته:
"إن فاتنا حديث من طريق.. وجدناه من طريق آخر، أما لو فاتك عقل هذا الفتى فلن تجده عند غيره".
