今日喺列斯市中心，港人無懼打壓，勇敢企出嚟悼念眾逝去嘅英魂。

一束鮮花、一盞燭光，我哋為眾英魂獻上最深切嘅敬意。由參加者將眾義士喺運動其間犧牲嘅事蹟一一朗讀出嚟，唔少人感觸落淚，為佢哋嘅付出悲痛不已，感嘆殺人政權無情。

更難得嘅係，有唔少家長都帶同小朋友出席，為佢哋解釋香港曾經有一班人勇敢付出，甚至犧牲生命去抵抗政權嘅暴行。希望港人嘅抗爭精神，能夠喺異地透過我哋嘅下一代傳承落去。

五年過去，我哋初心不滅！只有光復香港，先能夠慰藉逝去嘅英魂。

Today in Leeds city centre, Hongkongers, undeterred by repression, bravely stood together to honour those who lost their lives during the 2019 protests.

With bouquets of flowers and candlelight, we expressed our deepest respect for the departed souls. Participants took turns reading aloud the stories of the protesters who sacrificed themselves during the movement, moving many to tears as they mourned these losses and condemned the cruelty of the oppressive regime.

Many parents brought their children to the event, explaining that once there were brave people in Hong Kong who gave their lives to resist the regime's atrocities. It is hoped that the spirit of Hongkongers' resistance will be passed down to future generations, even in a foreign land.

Five years have passed, but we will never surrender! Only by liberating Hong Kong can we bring solace to the fallen.

Five years ago, we, as HongKongers, took to the streets alongside two million others in the largest demonstration in Hong Kong's history. Despite significant media coverage, not everyone around the world fully understands why we did this.

Yesterday, on the fifth anniversary of this massive demonstration, HongKongers in Leeds gathered to commemorate the event. We read aloud letters from the families of Hong Kong political prisoners, sharing their words and their pain. This powerful act of remembrance drew the attention of passers-by, who expressed their support and found the situation in Hong Kong heart-breaking. Their empathy translated into action, and we received £104.7 in donations for BonhamTree Aid, a registered organisation supporting political prisoners and their family. While this may not seem like a large sum, every pound is a testament to the support shown, and for that, we thank you deeply from the bottom of our hearts.

Five years have passed, and life has not been easy. Fighting for what we believe in is even harder, but we must remain hopeful. We need to find more allies by telling our friends and neighbours about what is happening in Hong Kong and standing in solidarity with all people who fight for freedom and democracy. We need to keep thinking about how to liberate Hong Kong and believe that we can. 

Hope is our guiding light, and with it, we can stand together in solidarity and keep going until we can reclaim our homeland.

「近年香港，反常是常態。通識科被開刀、國安法、選舉加插「忠誠度測試」、傳媒倒閉，各方淪陷嘅新聞不斷。不斷失去嘅同時，我哋亦開始反思：咁有啲乜嘢，我哋呢刻仍然擁有？

重重限制、箝制同打壓已成現實，滿是荊棘。所謂嘅「路」，總係從荊棘中走出。我哋唔單止要喺狹縫之中搵到洞口，仲要奮力將佢撐開，咁先可以得到屬於我哋嘅曙光。返屋企如是；出走如是；收復失地亦如是。」

Transcript: Recently, a series of abnormal events has swept through Hong Kong, reaching a point where their occurrence has become somewhat routine: the cessation of liberal studies, the enforcement of the National Security Law, the imposition of “loyalty” assessments for candidacy in elections, and the closure of news outlets. As we witness our losses, we're left questioning: “what, indeed, remains?”

Ensnared within the reality of limitations and oppression, adorned with thorns, roads often necessitate navigating these intricately woven, prickly obstacles. We not only need to find an exit along the narrow passage but also toil tirelessly to open it, in order to claim the dawn that is rightfully ours—whether returning home, fleeing, or reclaiming lost ground.

昨日323 反23，列斯嘅手足響應全球二十多個城市嘅號召，冒住嚴寒天氣同埋極度大風，走上街頭表達我哋對廿三條立法嘅憤怒同不滿?

有唔少嘅本地人都走過嚟了解，甚至有人表示曾經喺香港住過，明白我哋嘅痛苦，仲同其中一位手足擁抱以示支持?

比卡超話香港大部份人支持23條立法。呢啲施暴者撳住人把口，唔俾人講唔同意就自吹自擂話大部份人都同意。????我哋今日企出嚟就係正正表示佢講嘅都係廢話！香港人只要一息尚存，必定抗爭到底！光復香港，時代革命！?

On the 23rd of March, Hongkongers around the world protested against Article 23. Hongkongers in Leeds, in response to the call, took to the streets in cold and windy weather to express our fury and dissent against Article 23.

Many locals approached us and wanted to know what had happened in Hong Kong. One lady who has lived in Hong Kong even hugged one of us to show her support.

The Chief Executive of Hong Kong said that most people support the Article 23 legislation. They silence all opposition voices and pretend they have public support. We are here to say ‘No’ to them. We will fight till our last breath. Liberate Hong Kong. Revolution of Our Times.

2023不知不覺已進入尾聲，列斯手足連線感謝今年仍然不離不棄，抗爭到底的每一位手足，祝大家在新的一年平平安安，身體健康。

回顧2023年，中共對香港人的打壓從來沒有停止。港共高調懸紅通緝流散港人；黎智英、47人及一眾被政治迫害的手足審訊持續；周庭及鍾翰林出獄後仍不斷被國安滋擾；流亡海外異見人士之在港家人被禍及。

縱然難捱，獨自走不動時，請牢記大家還在身旁。

展望未來，只要香港一日仍在中共的魔爪底下，我們定必堅持發聲，對抗中共打壓。除了繼續出席活動之外，亦請捐款到不同人道支援基金去幫助在囚手足及其家屬。我們更應該把抗爭融入生活，向街坊同事及朋友宣揚香港的故事，令更多本地人知道香港淪陷於共匪手中，並爭取他們的支持。

置身於漆黑隧道，遍尋不獲曙光。或許走着走着頓然感到迷失方向，不知何去何從。但我們絕非孤軍奮戰，沿途總會碰上同路人，在跌撞裏找到應行之路。互相扶持，在前往光復香港的路上堅持下去！
