Cabinet Committee on Security, on September 02, 2024, approved the proposal for procurement of 240 aero-engines (AL-31FP) for Su-30 MKI aircraft of the Indian Air Force (IAF) under the Buy (Indian) category from Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) at a cost of over Rs 26,000 crore inclusive of all taxes and duties. The delivery of these aero-engines would start after one year and complete over a period of eight years: Ministry of Defence

Once CO Hansa, Capt. Sanjoy Gupta, visited Hansa MCPO/CPO Mess and dining hall.

He was offered food to taste. The vegetable in the menu was ‘Kaddu’.

CO was in a good mood and said "Ye kaddu bahut accha sabzi hai".

Our Mess President, Pritpal Singh, MCPO-II from Seamen Branch, sensed the mood and started..
"Yes sir, ye bahut behtareen sabzi hai. Kaddu sehat ke liye bhi bahut accha hai. Isme Vitamin A,B,C,D,E,F,G sab hota hai."

CO smiled.

After a few days there was another visit to the Mess and there was the famous Kaddu.

CO was in a foul mood and said..."Ye Kaddu bhi koi sabzi hai??"

MCPI-II Pritpal Singh started off..
"Yes sir, Kaddu to hota hi bekaar hai. Ye to ASC wale dete hain kyonki sasta hota hai. Sir isme koi Vitamin nahi hota hai. Bilkul bekaar."

CO said.."Maasaab, kucch din pehle to aap keh rahe the ki Kaddu bahut behtareen sabzi hai aur aaj aap keh rahe ho ke bilkul bekaar hai.

It is then that the MCPO-II Pritpal Singh, came out with a gem. He said
Sahab mein naukari aap ka karta hun, Kaddu ka nahi.

HAL Statement:
**A Su-30 MKI crashed while on a test sortie from HAL Nashik at Sirsa gaon. Both the pilots, from HAL, have ejected to safety. A technical snag was reported by the pilots.

The exact reason will only be known after a detailed investigation.**
