The aim of this report is to provide information about the conduct, discoveries and recommendations of the survey on how to improve the canteen in our company carried out among the staff members on January 25th, 2025.

On the January 25th, my colleague, Rustambek Bekturdiyev, and I brought 25 leaflets to the exam department we are working for. Their number corresponded to the number of workers in the department (25 persons), and they contained 10 open-cloze questions about our canteen. More specifically, the data about what dishes the staff members like most, what they dislike and what is yet to be improved was included in the questions. The participants had been given 15 minutes to think over the questions and fill in the spaces, after which the leaflets were collected.

Survey findings.

Once we had checked the results, it turned doughnuts are the favourite food for almost all workers (23/25). We also discovered that most workers (almost 80%) were dissatisfied with the time needed for food to be provided, which came as no surprise given that it takes about 20 minutes on average for the food to be ready. Prior to conducting the survey, we had expected most people would indicate that facilities, such as tables and chairs, should be replaced with newer ones as they, we think, leave a lot to be desired. Yet it wasn't the case, since the number of those pointing to that (5) paled into insignificance when compared to that of those saying the menu should be expanded (20), as most staff members turned out to want to try something new.

Recommendations.

Taking into account the above-mentioned, company needs to encourage canteen staff to deliver food faster to address the workers' dissatisfaction. To further meet the needs of our staff, the menu can be broadened as well, by adding other cuisines' dishes to the current list. Fianlly, I would advise to buy new furniture to the kitchen and remove the existing one, as it has already been 5 years since it was changed last time.
