No, the only folks who truly had skin in the game when the Russians rolled over the border were the Ukrainians themselves (and maybe a few well-disguised Delta and CIA operators helping the Ukrainians use our comms intercepts to reduce the life expectancy of Russian generals).

Still, things did not look good for the home team back in February.

Russia has three times Ukraine’s population and supposedly advanced military technology. The logistics should have been simple, too, since the Russians could supply themselves from their own country.

Yet the Russians couldn’t take Kiev. Not even after they started firing missiles at malls and leaving civilians dead in the street. Apparently the Russian army is not what it used to be.

Now Vlad and the boys have moved to plan B, which is likely stealing the natural gas fields in eastern Ukraine. If their army can’t even manage that much, they’ll go to plan C, annexing Donbas and calling it a day.

This is not how you fight when your national survival is at stake. This is not how you fight when you believe half the propaganda you are spitting. Or 10 percent of it. This is the military equivalent of the bully trying to steal the fourth-grader’s lunch money and learning the hard way that the fourth-grader takes taekwondo.

So the Russians are retreating from their attack on Kiev - leaving mass graves in their wake.

This does not look good for either Vladimir Putin or the American conservatives who have been been foolish enough to fawn over him.

Let’s review: back in February the Zs rolled over the border.

Yes, five weeks ago, the evil Ukrainians posed some existential threat to the good citizens of Russia.

What was the threat? I can’t exactly remember. Nazis? Biolabs? BioNazis? Or maybe the chance Ukraine would get to join the European Union in 2030 and enjoy lower tariffs on delicious French Burgundies. Something like that?

Or was it just that the Russian army needed the practice?

Except apparently it was. Because after five weeks of fighting - badly - the Russians are taking their tanks, the ones the Ukrainians haven’t blown up, and heading out. It was real, it was fun, but it wasn’t really fun, as the mean girls in high school used to say. (1/3)

The warning came from the Medical Indemnity Protection Society, which provides professional insurance coverage for doctors. Although these insurers do not speak officially for government agencies, doctors effectively cannot practice without professional insurance, so their pronouncements are powerful.

In other words, only a very brave physician in Australia would consider offering advice that’s not “consistent with public health messaging” anytime soon.

Australia’s march toward medical authoritarianism continues.

Doctors are now being told they could face discipline for saying anything that contradicts “public health messaging,” even if what they are saying is “evidence-based.”

They may even face investigations for “authoring papers” that health authorities do not like.

So South Korea finds itself exactly the wrong place in the Covid cycle.

It vaccinated its citizens mostly from June through October 2021. It started boosters in November, and the people who who received the third jabs first were the elderly and frail. The reason South Korea has the highest rate of new Covid cases any country has ever seen is not despite but because it is so highly vaccinated. The failure of the shots is accelerating the rate of infection and transmission.

Hospitalizations and deaths are rising too, though they have not reached the overwhelming levels that the case figures would suggest. The vaccine advocates - clinging to the last plank of the rapidly sinking SS MRNA - insist this is proof the vaccines are working. Or at least not failing catastrophically.

Maybe. Maybe not. Several factors complicate the picture around hospitalizations and deaths. Omicron is more contagious but milder. Treatments have improved in the last two years, and doctors now do everything possible to keep people off ventilators (in Britain, for example, the number of ventilated patients in Britain has almost completely decoupled from hospitalizations).

Also, South Korea has some of the thinnest people in the world (it is so focused on keeping its citizens thin that it uses a BMI standard of 25 for obesity, rather than the international standard of 30, to make its numbers look worse and encourage citizens to view obesity as a crisis). Obesity is a critical risk factor for Covid, so South Korea’s relative thinness makes cross-national comparisons even more difficult to make.

Finally, at this point no one can know how many hospitalizations and deaths South Korea will have in the next couple of months. By the time the counting is done, though, the world’s attention will elsewhere and the advocates will be onto Shot Five (this time it’ll work, really!). (4/6)

Still, we have a lot of mRNA jabbed people at high risk. And the United States will have relatively high Covid infection fatality rates compared to countries like South Korea because so many Americans are so fat (sorry, that’s the sad truth).

Thus we are likely to see a lot of infections and deaths for the foreseeable future. Whether this never-ending epidemic would have happened had we not decided to go the mRNA route is a very good question, one you can expect government researchers to everything possible not to answer.

In the meantime, Team Apocalypse is in a tough spot. Being hysterical comes naturally to them. But scaring people only works if you have a solution, and the failure of the mRNA shots means they don’t. Thus the increasingly open discussion of how we all have to live with Covid going forward.

If I decide to do this, I will look to raise money to back the suit. I don’t actually think it will be particularly expensive, but I would like as many small donations as possible, mainly to show how many people think equating speech with terrorism is a travesty and must stop.

I assume there will be money left over, potentially lots - it can go to some worthy free speech cause.
