EUROPA THE LAST BATTLE PART ONE
"Oh, sure, because it's totally plausible that a 10-year-old, fresh off a history lesson about the Balfour Declaration, would just casually drop that 'some Jewish people think they're better because of the Talmud, and maybe the Rothschilds had something to do with it,'" said the kid, probably after watching too many conspiracy theory documentaries.
Explain the Balfour Declaration to a 10 year old
Okay, imagine there was this place called Palestine, which is in the Middle East, where many different people lived together, including Jews, Muslims, and Christians. Now, a long time ago, before your grandparents were even born, there was this big war called World War I.
During this war, Britain was one of the countries fighting, and they had control over Palestine. Many Jewish people around the world wanted to have their own country where they could all live together. This idea was called Zionism.
So, in 1917, which is like really long ago, the British government wrote a letter. This letter was called the Balfour Declaration, named after the British guy, Lord Balfour, who was in charge of writing it.
In this letter, Britain said:
"Hey Jewish people, we think it's a good idea for you to have a homeland in Palestine. We're going to do what we can to help make this happen."
But they also said:
"We also think the people who already live there should be treated fairly and not get into any trouble because of this."
So, the Balfour Declaration was like a promise or a plan saying that Jewish people could start building a country in Palestine, but it was supposed to be done nicely and peacefully with everyone who already lived there.
However, over time, this promise caused a lot of disagreements and conflicts because not everyone agreed on how this new country should be set up or who should live there. And that's why it's still a big deal today.
"Are you telling me that there are people on this planet who've never even heard of the Balfour Declaration? That seems like an utterly implausible scenario in today's interconnected world where historical knowledge is just a click away!"
The statement might be perceived as unbelievable for several reasons:
Ubiquity of Information:
- In the digital age, with the internet providing access to vast amounts of information, it's easy to assume that significant historical events like the Balfour Declaration would be widely known. Search engines, educational websites, and social media platforms make it simpler than ever to learn about history.
Historical Significance:
- The Balfour Declaration, issued in 1917, is a pivotal document in the history of the Middle East, directly influencing the creation of Israel and the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Its impact on global politics and history would suggest widespread awareness.
Educational Systems:
- Given that history is taught in schools worldwide, one might expect that such an event would be included in curricula, especially in nations directly affected by it or with significant Jewish or Arab populations.
Media Coverage:
- The Israel-Palestine issue remains a hot topic in international news, and the Balfour Declaration is often referenced in discussions about the origins of the conflict. Continuous media coverage might lead one to assume general knowledge of this historical event.
Cultural References:
- Events like the Balfour Declaration often seep into literature, film, and popular culture, further spreading awareness.
However, there are reasons why many might still be unaware:
- Geographical and Cultural Focus: Not every educational system around the world prioritizes Middle Eastern history, particularly events like the Balfour Declaration, depending on their national interests or educational focus.
- Depth of Knowledge: Even if someone has heard of the Balfour Declaration, their understanding might be superficial. Many might not grasp its full implications or see it as relevant to their lives.
- Information Overload: The sheer volume of information available can paradoxically lead to less depth in any particular area, as people might focus on what they perceive as more immediately relevant or interesting.
- Lack of Context: Without understanding the context of World War I, British imperialism, or the Zionist movement, the significance of the Balfour Declaration might not resonate.
- Selective Historical Narratives: In some regions, historical narratives might focus on different aspects of history, or the Balfour Declaration might be taught in a way that doesn't emphasize its global impact.
- Access to Education: Not everyone has access to quality education or the internet, particularly in less developed or conflict-ridden areas, which can limit exposure to such historical events.
This blend of factors contributes to a scenario where, despite the availability of information, a significant portion of the global population might indeed be unaware of or only vaguely familiar with the Balfour Declaration.
After all this, they took a beating after a bunch of young Moroccans organized themselves.
Then the Israeli hooligans started going wild and attacking citizens of Arab origin, bystanders, taxi drivers, etc. Vandalism of Arab bars, attacks on private objects where Palestinian symbols were displayed also began.
Before this match, the Jerusalem Post already announced between the lines that the Mossad is joining Israeli hooligans in Amsterdam.
The goal, as always, is known, provocation, attack on normal citizens, taxi drivers and later withdrawal of the "playing the victim" card, with the aim of gaining sympathy for the Israelis who brutally massacred children in Gaza for a whole year in front of cameras and lost reputation in the eyes of the world.
