Steven Dsouza, an MIT Manipal alumnus, is all set to be part of an epoch-making event. Steven has been working as Senior Spaceship Propulsion Avionics Engineer with Virgin Galactic that has launched its flagship commercial spaceflight programme.

Headed by eminent entrepreneur and investor Richard Branson, the programme will take the world's first group of space tourists, including Indian travel journalist and entrepreneur Santhosh George Kulangara, to outer space in 2022. Since its debut at the Spaceport America Cup 2018, ThrustMIT has been soaring to new heights of innovation. The team updates itself through research and development initiatives and has come a long way in just four years. ThrustMIT is among the top competitors of the Spaceport America Cup, thanks to its brilliant performance in the 10000 ft COTS category. The team is currently building India’s most powerful sounding rocket motor.

Established in 2009, AeroMIT is a team of 30 undergraduate students from various streams. The team is one of the top competitors of the SAE Aero Design annual competition and has always remained in the top-10 list since 2018. The team secured 1st place in Technical Presentation and 4th place in Overall Excellence at the 2020 edition of the competition. They were the runners-up for Technical Presentation and stood 5th Worldwide in the Design Report, in the SAE Aero Design Knowledge Event, 2021. AeroMIT also secured 1st place in the national-level aeromodelling competition held at the Sahyadri College of Engineering in the year 2019 and were runners-up IIT-B Techfest, 2019.

We are extremely proud to announce that Blackfrog Technologies Pvt, Ltd., a startup incubated by Manipal Universal Technology Business Incubator (MUTBI) has been listed amongst other companies, as one of India's 20 Futuristic Startups. The company founded by MIT Manipal alumnus - Mayur Shetty, has been recognised for the invention of an innovative device - Emvolio, a portable battery-powered refrigeration unit that is specially designed to store vials.

MUTBI, an initiative by MAHE Manipal aims to nurture and develop innovation and entrepreneurial skills among its faculty, students, and people from the region. MUTBI is also one of the 54 Tech Business Incubators that is funded by the National Science & Technology Entrepreneurship Development Board, Department of Science & Technology, and the Government of India, to promote innovation-driven startups.

Computer & Communication Engineering is the specialization of Computer Science and Electronics Communication. It deals with the study of communication networks, cloud computing, and big data analysis.
