One of the overlooked good traits of British guitar bands in the mid-90s is that a lot of them used to put loads of percussion on their songs.

Oasis especially, Ocean Colour Scene as well. Tambourines and shakers mainly, handclaps as well.

There's that phenomenon they call "alpha widowing" where a woman is basically ruined for life by some relationship (usually short/not serious, even though she probably wanted it to be serious) with a particularly desirable man in her past who no one else will compare to. Usually particularly attractive and/or wealthy. In a lot of cases it's a woman who's about a 6/10 being used for a bit by a man who's a 9/10.

The equivalent woman for a man - i.e. the woman no one else can compete with - might just be one who was nice enough. Not even necessarily very physically attractive (that's not the same thing as looks - she'd have to be good looking), but just nice enough that he could actually fall for her. Feminine enough, reserved enough, not too unstable or conceited, not off-puttingly vulgar and laddish, just tactful, polite, softly spoken, nice to talk to etc.

Yes, that happened to me. Probably wouldn't happen if women who match that description (and it's not exactly unrealistic) weren't so rare today, because Christ knows, women in general aren't exactly hard to impress.
