Ran across two young, female environmental activists today while grabbing lunch.

One of them flagged me down, and insisted on having a conversation, having no idea what it was I would inflict upon them.

“Are you more concerned with air or water pollution,” she asked.

I said, “neither - I am more concerned with the damage done to soil, wildlife habitats, and vegetation - which probably also impacts water sources.”

She was thrilled.

Then I pulled out my phone and showed the cartel caravans, coyote camps, discarded supplies, damage to the desert landscape and discarded diapers - and said taking care of the environment requires us to shut down our borders.

Turns out they didn’t care as much about the environment as I had originally thought.
