Narrated Ahmad in his “Musnad” (27287):

From Abu Hurayra from the Prophet ﷺ who said: The Prophets are brothers from different mothers: their religion is one and their mothers are different.

Taghut is a name for what is worshipped besides Allah from among mankind [if they agree/are pleased/call for it] or anything inanimate.

Abdullah bin Wahb said: and imam Malik said to me: Taghut is anything that is worshiped besides or instead of Allah.

Allah said: “and avoid taghut” (an-nahl 36)

And a muslim cannot be taghut, as Jabir bin Abdullah رَضِيَ ٱللَّٰهُ عَنْهُ said when Wahb bin Munabbih asked him: “Are there any taghut among muslims?” Jabir said: “No”.

and Allah The Most High ordered in His book to worship only Him. If anyone devotes any form of worship to anybody besides Allah, then they have associated partners with Allah and disbelieved in Allah The Most High.

Allah The Most High says:

“Say: “O disbelievers, I do not worship what you worship””
(kafirun 3)

and Allah The Most High says:

“Come to a word of justice between us and you that we do not worship anyone or anything except Allah”
(al-imran 64)

and Allah The Most High says:

“Noah said: “O my nation, worship only Allah; there is no deity upon you except Him””
(al-araf 59)
