Imam al-Marghinani's renowned work, al-Hidayah, has been studied in Islamic seminaries worldwide for generations and holds a prestigious position as one of the most significant texts in the Hanafi Madhab. This commentary is one of many written on al-Hidayah, with its introduction listing 76 such works.

This particular commentary has been highly praised by Hanafi scholars over the generations. For example, Imam Badr al-Din al-Ayni cites it approximately 350 times in his commentary, Imam Ibn al-Humam references it over 100 times, and numerous other scholars draw upon it due to its meticulous explanation of al-Hidayah.

The author's method includes beginning with a linguistic analysis of the text, drawing on prominent Arabic language authorities. He then explains the masail discussed in the text, using both textual and rational evidences. Additionally, he addresses objections and critiques that may arise regarding Imam al-Marghinani's preferred rulings (tarjihat). His reliance on the books of Dhahir al-Riwayah is evident throughout.

The book’s layout is user-friendly: the text of al-Hidayah appears at the top of each page, while the commentary is placed below. The specific portions of al-Hidayah being commented on are highlighted in red font for clarity.
