[INFO] Pledis Entertainment has confirmed on March 1, 2024 that after undergoing a physical examination for the military, #SCOUPS received a level 5 exemption from his mandatory military service duties. He underwent surgery for a torn anterior cruciate ligament last August 2023 and went on hiatus to focus on recovery. In Korea, Grades 1-4 are accepted, while Grades 5-7 are rejected in the military. If a person's physical exam result is grade 5, he is only enlisted for the wartime labor service.

Article 11 of [Act No. 9754, Jun. 9, 2009] tackles about the Draft Physical Examination and states that:

1) Every person shall undergo a draft physical examination at the time and place designated by the director of the regional military manpower office.
3) The draft physical examination shall be divided into a physical examination and a psychological test.
4) In the physical examination, all parts of the body shall be examined through a surgical test, internal examination, etc., and if necessary, a clinical pathology test, radiographing, etc. may be conducted.
5) Through the psychological test, the individual's emotion, personality, etc. shall be assessed by observation of the individual's words and deeds, interview, examination in writing, etc. and if necessary, a detailed psychological test may be conducted to specifically check the mental and psychological status.

Article 12 (Determination of Physical Grades):

1. Doctors exclusively in charge of the draft physical examination, doctors specializing in the draft physical examination, or military surgeons under Article 12-2 who have performed a physical examination shall determine physical grades.
2. Those incapable of entering active or supplementary service but capable of entering the wartime labor service shall be determined at Grade V.

In simpler terms, Level 5 Wartime Workers who are deemed unfit for the military by professionals (doctors) and approved by the officers in charge due to their physical & psychological health (with their recovery time not enough before their possible enlistment), are fully exempt from enlistment unless the country enters a state of war.

Despite S.coups's assurances and announcement of resuming idol activities this month, his military exam results conducted by professionals meant that he still isn't fit enough for serious activities, especially in military. We sincerely hope that everyone can take this seriously and not use this as a way to joke, insult and demean him, because this was a decision made for him by professionals based on his examination results in hopes of not further aggravating his health.
