Internship with T5 Specialised Systems, Changi Airport Group

About the role
The T5 Specialised Systems (T5SS) team, under the Changi East cluster of Changi Airport Group, is
responsible for overseeing and planning for specialised airport systems to drive efficiency for airport
operations in the future Terminal 5.

As an intern with the innovations arm of the T5SS team, you will be assisting the team in the project
management of installation and live trials for ongoing innovation projects, including projects on
autonomous vehicles and baggage handling. You will be collaborating closely with various stakeholders
to collect and analyse trial findings, to generate insights and evaluate trial success based on the data
collected. During the internship, you will be able to gain valuable exposure to emerging technologies
and industry insights.

Responsibilities
• Assist in the design of operational procedures to balance the needs of various stakeholders
• Assist with the coordination and observation of trials with internal and external stakeholders
• Track and manage data collection of trial findings
• Tabulate and analyse qualitative and quantitative findings from trials to generate insights
• Evaluate success of trial in various areas and review trial metrics to determine areas for
improvement
• Assist in project management to ensure deliverables are met and on-track

Preferred Requirements
• Enthusiastic about airport operations and demonstrate interest in learning about operational
flows
• Willingness to participate in groundwork during trials to observe and collect data
• Comfortable with interacting and working alongside various internal and external stakeholders
• Self-driven and motivated to work in high-paced environment

Internship Opportunities

There is an opening for a hardware electronics internship on robot vacuum cleaner product under a robotics team from January 2025. Specially, we would need one interning student, majoring in mechatronics or electronics, with some experience in software programming and interest in robotics.

Congratulations to our NUS Team BumbleBee, who are the Champions at the just concluded Maritime RobotX Challenge 2024 (3 to 9 November) at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota, Florida, USA!!!

Our NUS Team BumbleBee achieved the overall first place, top design documentation, best website, best video, best system assessment and best presentation! Our team is the first team to win the Championship twice, since the Challenge started in 2014 in Singapore. Our team last won it in 2018 at Hawaii.

The Maritime RobotX Challenge is an international competition designed to foster student interest in autonomous robotic systems operating in the maritime domain, with an emphasis on the science and engineering of cooperative autonomy. We are looking for iDP students to be the tour guides to host tours for our visitors at the Innovation and Design Hub.

Please replace latest by 8 November 2024 and bento lunch will be provided.

• Date: Saturday, 7 December 2024
• Duration of tour: 1pm – 3pm
• Compensation: $15/hr
• Tour Venue: Innovation and Design Hub

Job Scopes:
• Conduct tours of the Hub facilities and projects on display
• Talk to students about what iDP programme as a second major can offer
• (if you are from iDPSC) Sharing about student life in iDPSC
