December 15th Final Full Cold Moon of 2024 before the great turning of the wheel.
Ocean faring civilizations lived their lives by the cycle of the Moon. Activities such as fishing and planting, had to be scheduled around these visible changes in the ocean.

Hina, the Hawaiian and Maori moon goddess, has 30 different faces to help illuminate life’s lessons, a different face and a different energy for each day of the month. And with her changing light, new insights are revealed. Hina is the moon goddess recognized by the navigators in the northern hemisphere and those in the southern hemisphere. What magick she holds for the spiritual traveler seeking her wisdom and guidance when you are about to embark on a journey.  

Full Cold Moon. Shines to the left of Jupiter tonight. The moon sits in nearly the same spot the sun occupied on the summer solstice. Around midnight when it stands highest in the sky, shadows cast will be identical in length to those seen under the summer sun.

December 1st – First of Two New Moons

This new moon represents a potent time for reflection and setting intentions. Each of us needs to move through our own personal storm. This new moon lunation is in the free-spirited sign of Sagittarius encouraging each of us to open our hearts to the dream that wishes to express itself through us. It is the inspired thought that simply won’t go away.  Put your trust in the universe and step forward. 

Dec. 1 – New Moon. Not visible because it’s near the sun in the daytime sky.

Dec. 4 – Pretty conjunction of the crescent moon and Venus this evening. They pair up in the southwestern sky at dusk about 2.5 degrees apart. Binoculars will easily corral the duo in the same field of view. Look 45 minutes to an hour after sunset.
