At the end of surah al-Furqan [25], Allah lists a number of traits of His believing slaves, including:

[وَالَّذِينَ يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَا هَبْ لَنَا مِنْ أَزْوَاجِنَا وَذُرِّيَّاتِنَا قُرَّةَ أَعْيُنٍ وَاجْعَلْنَا لِلْمُتَّقِينَ إِمَامًا]

"And they are those who say, 'Our Lord, grant us among our wives and offspring a comfort to our eyes, and make us a good example for the righteous." (74)

Imam al-Baghawi brought the following statement from one of the tabi'oon in his explanation of this ayah:

[قال القرظي : ليس شيء أقر لعين المؤمن من أن يرى زوجته وأولاده مطيعين لله - عز وجل - .]

Muhammad ibn Ka'b al-Qurathi said, "There is nothing more pleasing to the eye of the believer than to see that his wife and his children are obedient to Allah, the Mighty and Majestic."

بلادُ العرب أوطاني من الشام لبغـدانِ
ومن نجدٍ إلى يَمَـنٍ إلى مصرَ فتَطوان
فلا حدٌّ يُباعدنــا "ولا دينٌ يُفرِّقنــا"
لسانُ الضاد يجمعنا بغسّانٍ وعدنــانِ

The nationalist poet Fakhri al-Baroodi said:

The Arab lands are my homeland, from Damascus to Baghdad

From Najd to Yemen to Egypt to Tetouan (Morocco)

No border separates us and NO RELIGION DIVIDES US

The language of al-daad (i.e., Arabic) unites us with Ghassaan and ‘Adnaan.

Abdullah (b. Masud) said: While observing prayer behind the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) we used to recite: Peace be upon Allah, peace be upon so and so. One day the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said to us: Verily Allah is Himself Peace. When any one of you sits during the prayer, he should say: All services rendered by words, by acts of worship, and all good things are due to Allah. Peace be upon you, O Prophet, and Allah's mercy and blessings. Peace be upon us and upon Allah's upright servants, for when he says this it reaches every upright servant in the heavens and the earth. (And say further): I testify that there is no god but Allah and I testify that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger. Then he may choose any supplication which pleases him and offer it.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى الثَّقَفِيُّ الْمَرْوَزِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ غِيَاثٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ سَابِطٍ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ، قَالَ قِيلَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَىُّ الدُّعَاءِ أَسْمَعُ قَالَ ‏"‏ جَوْفُ اللَّيْلِ الآخِرُ وَدُبُرَ الصَّلَوَاتِ الْمَكْتُوبَاتِ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ قَالَ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ ‏.‏ وَقَدْ رُوِيَ عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ وَابْنِ عُمَرَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَنَّهُ قَالَ ‏"‏ جَوْفُ اللَّيْلِ الآخِرُ الدُّعَاءُ فِيهِ أَفْضَلُ أَوْ أَرْجَى ‏"‏ ‏.‏ أَوْ نَحْوَ هَذَا ‏.‏

Abu Umamah narrated: “It was said: ‘O Messenger of Allah, which supplication is most likely to be listened to?’ He said: ‘(During) the last part of the night, and at the end of the obligatory prayers.’”

Ibn al-Qayyim (may Allah have mercy on him) said in Zaad al-Ma‘aad (1/294): “At the end of the prayer” may be understood as meaning before the salam or after it. Our shaykh [i.e., Ibn Taymiyah] regarded it as more likely that it is before the salam. I asked him about that and he said: Dibr kulli shay’ (the end of everything) is part of it, like the dibr (rear end) of an animal. End quote.

اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّا نَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ زَوَالِ نِعْمَتِكَ وَتَحَوُّلِ عَافِيَتِكَ وَفُجَاءَةِ نِقْمَتِكَ وَجَمِيعِ سَخَطِكَ

O Allah, we seek refuge in You from the removal of Your blessings, the change of Your protection, the sudden onset of Your punishment, and all forms of Your displeasure.

اے اللہ! ہم تیری پناہ مانگتے ہیں تیری نعمتوں کے زوال سے، تیری عافیت کے بدل جانے سے، تیرے اچانک عذاب سے، اور تیری تمام ناراضگی سے۔
