Ex. The earthquake was a terrible disaster, causing widespread destruction and loss of life.
*?Violent - very strong and usually causing damage.
Ex. The violent storm ripped through the town, tearing roofs off houses and uprooting trees.*
?Erupt - explode and throw out fire, burning rocks.
Ex. Mount Vesuvius is known to erupt occasionally, sending plumes of ash and smoke high into the sky.
*?Crops - Plants that are grown for food, e.g. rice and potatoes.

?Volcanic eruption - a volcano is a mountain with a hole in the top, and when it erupts, hot gases and lava are forced out into the air and onto the surrounding land.
Ex. The volcanic eruption sent rivers of lava cascading down the mountainside, engulfing everything in its path.
*?Drought - a long period with no rain.
Ex. The region suffered from a severe drought that lasted for over a year, leading to crop failures and water shortages.
