A virtual machine escape exploit will typically require kernel privileges in the guest OS. In this exploit I chose to offload the reverse-engineered toolgate protocol implementation to a Python module, while keeping my low-level kernel code minimal, just enough to implement the attack interface - a nod to the principle of least privilege in systematic software engineering, which we miss a lot in non-trivial exploit development. -- @alisaesage

I am in love with these deep space ambience vids. Ever since I discovered it, it’s on in my living room most nights. I feel that it helps ultra deep focus, somewhere between Alpha and Theta brainwaves.

P.S. I hope you never watch TV shows or movies in the background? Even some wordless music transmits A LOT of information, which you are not aware of (which is why I find it difficult to find music that I like - I am kind of aware of the information which is encoded in it, and it’s not good for my mental structures). White noise is best, plus Endel for focus.

Is the “real life” dead?

I’m happy watching the CCC livestream from the comfort of my living room, overlooking the ocean, reading my Twitter stream (there is yet another 0day hype going on right now, whatever), and my own chat rooms where I can block out trolls instantly.

Not sure if it’s worth struggling with travel visas, crowded airplanes, and customs procedures, only to get locked up in a messy room with 100 strangers.

Однако, столкнувшись с русской народной культурой деловых переговоров (той, которая с бесконечными обедами, баньками, пьянками и ценником из космоса - я в ней, кстати, никогда не участвовала), по-быстрому прыгнул в самолет и улетел обратно в Штаты, а в самолете написал драфт бизнес-плана компании, которая на тот момент еще никак на называлась.

Плюс, весь этот гневный разговор про силиконовые барьеры напомнил мне еще один аспект той же самой истории: бизнес SpaceX стартовал с очень похожих входных параметров - в ситуации экономического барьера элитистской монополии. Сейчас компания оценивается в 180 миллиардов долларов США.
