اقتربَتْ الساعةُ ولا يزدادُ الناسُ على الدنيا إلا حِرْصًا، ولا يزْدادُونَ من اللهِ إلا بُعدًا

‎The (Final) Hour has approached and people have not increased with Dunyā except in greed and they have not increased with Allāh except in distance.

Imām ash-Shāfi’ī رحمه الله:

"There is nobody except that he has someone who loves him and someone who hates him.

So if that’s the case, let a person be with the people who are obedient to Allāh as they love and hate for the Sake of Allāh and they are not unjust."
[Hilyat al-Awliyā’: 9/124]

Ibn al-Jawzi رحمه الله:

"Whenever you notice your life is being disturbed and changed,

then recall a blessing that you have not thanked Allāh for (and thank Him for it)

or a sin you have previously committed (and seek forgiveness for it)."

عفّةُ المرأة تبدأُ مِن ترك لفت النَّظرِ، وعِفةُ الرجلِ تبدأُ مِن غضِّ البَصرِ، وعفةُ القلبِ مِن تعظيمِ أوامرِ ربّ البشرِ.

"The chastity of a woman begins with avoiding attention, the chastity of a man begins with lowering his gaze, and the purity of the heart comes from honoring the commands of the Lord of mankind."

Mālik b. dīnār رحمه الله said:

“Fight your desires just as you fight your enemies.”

[al-kāmil fil-lughah wal-adab (187)]

“It is only a brief enjoyment. Then Hell will be their home—what an evil place to rest!”

اللهم أجرنا من النار، وأصلح قلوبنا، وثبتنا على دينك، وارزقنا جنة الفردوس.

سَعَةُ الدُّنيا تضيق بهمٍّ صغيرٍ، فلا تستجلبوا الهموم لقلوبكم، وخففوا عن أنفسكم أثقالها، وافتحوا أبواب الفرح عليكم، ونقِّلوها بين المشروع والمباح.

The vastness of the Dunyaa can be made to feel constrictive by a minor worry.

So do not seek worries for your hearts, lessen the burdens on your souls, and allow yourselves to be happy.

Let your souls alternate between what is prescribed by Allaah and what is permissible.

Narrated ‘Abdullah:
I asked the Prophet (ﷺ) “Which deed is the dearest to Allah?”

He ﷺ replied, “To offer the prayers at their early stated fixed times.”
