Ibn Qayyim’s advice to the sick:

قال ابن القيم:
‏ولو أحسن العبد التداوي بالفاتحة لرأى لها تأثيرًا عجيبًا في الشفاء.

‏ومكثتُ بمكة مدّةً تعتريني أدواء، ولا أجد طبيبًا ولا دواء، فكنتُ أعالج نفسي بالفاتحة، فأرى لها تأثيرًا عجيبًا. فكنت أصف ذلك لمن يشتكي ألمًا، وكان كثير منهم يبرأ سريعًا.

‏?الداء والدواء

“If a person uses the treatment with al-Fātiḥah properly, he would see some great effects in the process of healing. I resided in Makkah for a period where I was stricken with some illness, but was unable to find a doctor nor any medicine. I treated myself with al-Fātiḥah, and I saw some amazing effects. I offered this treatment to anyone who suffered pain, and most of them were swiftly cured.”

• SUNNAN OF EID:

1. For the Eid Salah to be prayed in an outdoor, open space of land

2. To delay Eid al Fitr Salah and to eat before it

3. To pray Eid al Adha Salah earlier and to eat after it
   a. Hashiyah: once they have prayed, they can come back and slaughter their udhiyyah, so that it occurs at the same time as the people in Mina – they can then eat from the udhiyyah

4. For the one who is slaughtering the animals, it is sunnah for him to pray early and to not eat beforehand
   a. Hashiyah: this is regarding the one who is slaughtering his Udhiyyah on Eid day. For the one slaughtering days after Eid (after the 3 complete days of Eid) etc. it is not sunnah for them to abstain from eating – he has a choice to eat or not to eat

5. For men and women to perform Ghusl
   a. Hashiyah: it is not permissible to perform it the night before

6. Those praying behind the Imam arrive early

7. The Imam delays coming out to the land - he comes out at the time of performing the salah

8. Giving Charity

9. To leave the house in a well dressed manner

10. To walk to the prayer area in one route, then taking another route home
