Mālik b. Dīnār said,

❝If the dunyā consisted of temporary gold, and the Hereafter of eternal sand, then a smart person should choose the eternal sand and ignore the temporary gold!”

I say: ‘Well, then how difficult can our choice really be, when we know that the dunyā consists of temporary sand and the Hereafter consists of eternal gold?’❞

(al-Qurṭubī, al-Jāmiʿ li-Aḥkām al-Qurʾān: 20/22)

Worse than the sin itself…

Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله:

• “The small amount of shyness that you have from the one on your right and the one on your left (i.e. scribes) while you’re committing a sin is greater than the sin (itself).

• And your laughing while you don’t know what Allāh will do with you is greater than the sin (itself).

• And your happiness with sin when you commit it, is greater than the sin (itself).

• And your sadness over the sin when it (the chance to commit sin) passes you, is greater than the sin (itself).
• And your fear of the wind when it moves the door which veils you when you’re committing the sin; but your heart isn’t disturbed (by the fact) that Allāh sees you is greater than the sin (itself) and woe to the devils!.”

[al-Jawab al-Kafi by Ibn al-Qayyim]

Mutarrif said:

“People destroy their happiness for the happiness of others; so seek happiness in something where there’s no death.”

Looking up at the vast expanse of the sky, my heart whispers softly, "Allāh is above the seven heavens, watching and hearing."
A profound realization settles within me - my meeting with Him is still pending, and the temporal nature of this world and my limited time on it are a stark reminder. In the end, only my deeds will accompany me as I journey to meet my Creator. Oh Allāh, how can I stand before You with all my sins and shortcomings weighing heavy on my heart? Oh Allāh, how daunting it is to ponder standing before You, laden with sins and shortcomings..💔

Death has no age. You may sleep tonight and not see tomorrow. People are praying fajr and not making it to Dhuhr. Stay close to Allāh because soon enough you will return to Him. (way__to_allah IG)

Reflect and Repent

Al-Mu‘allamī رحمه الله said:

“O son of Adam,till when will you remain addicted to sins,drowning in the waves of faults,swimming in the waters of heedlessness?Have you acquired certainty of immortality?Or have you acquired certainty that after death you will return to the world?”
[Al-Āthār 10/22]
